MHD pumps represent prospective devices without movable parts that may be used for pumping molten metals instead of classical rotational pumps. The paper analyses the possibilities of their employment for pumping molten lead as cooling medium in nu-clear reactors of the fourth generation. MHD čerpadla představují perspektivní zařízení bez pohyblivých částí, které lze využít pro čerpání tekutých kovů místo klasických čerpadel rotačních. Příspěvek analyzuje možnosti jejich využití pro čerpání tekutého olova jakožto chladicího média v jaderných reaktorech čtvrté generace.
