In this thesis I make a triple comparison of George Orwell's novel 1984: triple i. e. mainly with three philosophical works: Vita activa. oder Vom tätigen Leben. (The Human Condition) of Hannah Arendt, Surveiller et punir. Naissance de la prison. (Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison) of Michel Foucault und De la grammatologie (Of Grammatology) of Jacques Derrida. In what a set-up the power realizes itself, will be analyzed. Key words: English literature, Power, Discipline, Control, Bio-politics Zusammenfassung Mit dieser Abhandlung stelle ich einen dreifachen Vergleich des Romans 1984 von George Orwell an, dreifach d. h. hauptsächlich mit drei philosophischen Werken : Vita activa. oder Vom tätigen Leben. von Hannah Arendt, Surveiller et punir. Naissance de la prison. (Überwachen und Strafen. Die Geburt des Gefängnisses) von Michel Foucault und De la grammatologie (Grammatologie) von Jacques Derrida.
