Lucemburský dvůr přilákal několik rodů, které měly příležitost získat dobré postavení pomocí služby v užším okruhu dvora a získáváním úřadů. Dvůr byl otevřený šlechticům, u nichž byla očekávána loajalita, ideální byly nově příchozí rody, které zatím nevlastnili na území království žádný majetek. Mezi takové rody patřili páni z Koldic a páni z Bergova. Král se jim za jejich služby odměňoval udílením lén (zejména v severozápadních Čechách: Krupka, Bílina). Díky přízni Lucemburků oba rody dosáhly poměrně rychlého vzestupu. Pány z Koldic lze označit za šlechtický rod kontinuálně navázaný na panovnický dvůr. Někteří páni z Bergova sice vystupovali v úřadech, ale nelpěli na bezpodmínečném sepjetí s panovníkem, jejich pragmatické chování je snadněji směřovalo do řad vznikajících stavovských struktur. Na prahu 15. století opustili léna pod Krušnými horami (Bílinu odkoupili Koldicové) a přesunuli se na východ (Trosky, Turnov, Chlumec n. Cidlinou). Za vlády Václava IV. byli nuceni zvažovat, ke kterému z Lucemburků se přikloní. Koldicové zachovali králi věrnost, páni z Bergova tvořili jádro Václavovy opozice. Za husitských válek podpořili páni z Koldic i z Bergova Zikmunda Lucemburského a stáli při katolické straně. Jedinou výjimkou byl Jan z Bergova zajatý po bitvě u Lipan. Albrecht z Koldic se synem Těmou a... The Lucembourg court attracted several noble families that had a oportunity to get a good status by serving a king and also hold offices. For such a service were ideal loyal nobles of newly arrived noble families, who didn't own any property in Bohemia. Lords of Colditz and lords of Bergov also belonged to them. The king rewarded them for their loyal service by giving them fiefs (especially in north-west Bohemia: Krupka and Bílina). The Luxembourg dynasty enabled these noble families a social rise. Lords of Colditz were connected to royal court since their beginnings in Bohemia. On the other hand some of the lords of Bergov hold offices, but they didn't hesitate to leave the court at a convinient moment. More likely they participated in newly emerging estates. During the reign of Wenceslav IV. lords of Colditz remained faithful to him, on the other hand lords of Bergov belonged to the main figures of his opposition. At the same time they changed the royal fiefs (Bílina was bought by lords of Colditz) for allod (Trosky, Turnov, Chlumec upon Cidlina). During the Hussite wars lords of Colditz and lords of Bergov were the fundamental support of catholic party. The only exception was John of Bergov, who was captured after the battle of Lipany.
