Bakalářská práce se zabývá fenomény smrti a umírání, které jsou vymezeny v první kapitole. Dále porovnává přístup ke smrti v minulosti s přístupem ke smrti v dnešní době. Popisuje podobu umírání, pohřební zvyky a rituály v minulosti a pojetí smrti v dnešní době. Poslední kapitola se věnuje sociální práci s umírajícími a jejich rodinami a slouží tak jako inspirace pro práci s touto cílovou skupinou. The bachelor's thesis deals with the phenomenon of death and dying which are defined in the first chapter. It also compares the access to death in the past time with the access to death nowadays. This thesis describes the forms of dying, funeral habits and rituals in the past and the concept of death nowadays. The last chapter deals with social work with dying people and their families, so it can serve as an inspiration for social work with this target group.
