Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat a vysvětlit využití groteskních prvků v díle Kena Keseyho Sailor Song. Tato novela známého amerického autora obsahuje mnohá nosná témata, spjatá se sociokulturním vývojem v USA druhé poloviny 20. století. Mezi tato témata patří např. apokalypsa a vliv změn životního prostředí na život hlavních postav tohoto díla. Sekundárním cílem této práce bude popsat a vysvětlit výskyt postmoderních prvků v tomto díle. Dalším úkolem této práce bude stručně srovnat dílo Sailor Song s ostatními díly Kena Keseyho. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and explain the use of grotesque elements in Ken Kesey´s Sailor Song. This novel by a well-known American author contains many of the key themes associated with sociocultural developments in the US in the second half of the 20th century. These include, for example, apocalypse and the impact of environmental change on the life of the main characters of this work. The secondary aim of this work is to describe and explain the occurrence of postmodern elements in this section. Another task of this work is briefly compare the novel of Sailor Song with other Ken Kesey´s works.
