Analýza a prognóza vývoje počtu a demografické struktury stomatologů v České republice Abstrakt Stárnutí zubních lékařů a s tím spojená obava z nedostatku zubních lékařů v budoucnosti je v současnosti často skloňované téma. Tento problém má příčinu v druhé polovině sedmdesátých a na začátku osmdesátých let, kdy vstupovalo do procesu zaměstnání neobvykle velké množství absolventů stomatologických oborů. V následujících několika letech se počty absolventů výrazně snížily, a to až na několikanásobky hodnot a poté se držely po několik desetiletí na konstantní úrovni, čímž se vytvořila dominantní věková kategorie, která v současnosti dosáhla důchodového věku. Velké množství zubních lékařů, kteří by měli v následujících letech začít odcházet do důchodu, vyvolalo reakci v podobě opětovného zvýšení univerzitních kapacit a v současné době jsou počty absolventů srovnatelné s obdobím před 35-40 lety. Práce se snaží zjistit, zdali tyto změny nastaly dostatečně včas a v takové míře, aby se dostupnost zubní lékařské péče výrazně nezhoršila oproti současnému stavu. This problem is caused in the late seventies and early eighties, when unusually large number of graduates of dental disciplines finished studium and became dentists. In the next few years, the number of graduates declined significantly, and then held for decades at a constant level. This dominant age category of dentists has currently reached retirement age. A large number of old dentists provoked a reaction in the form of re-increase university capacity and current number of graduates is comparable with numbers in the period before 35-40 years ago. The purpose of this paper is to examine this changes and decide, if this changes were sufficient to keep current situation in the field of dental health care.
