Bakalářská práce je věnována výzkumné knihovně významného německého historika umění a kultury Abyho Warburga, která původně sídlila v Hamburku (Kulturwissenschaftliche Bibliothek Warburg), před 2. světovou válkou však byla nucena přesídlit do Londýna, kde se stala součástí Londýnské univerzity (The Warburg Institute). Práce stručně načrtává historii knihovny v kontextu Warburgova života a jeho vědecké práce, dále se zaměřuje na popis jejího systematického klasifikačního schématu a uspořádání knih ve volně přístupném fondu v souvislosti s Warburgovými vědeckými metodami. V rámci dané problematiky si práce blíže všímá termínu "výzkumná knihovna", v českém knihovnickém diskurzu zatím málo diskutovaném a osvětluje některé Warburgem prosazované strategie a pravidla uplatňující se při věcném stavění knih ve volně přístupném fondu, zejména "zákon dobrého sousedství", serendipitu aj. Bachelor thesis focuses on the research library, founded by a significant German art historian and historian of culture, Aby Warburg. The Library was originally located in Hamburg as Kulturwissenschaftliche Bibliothek Warburg. Before the 2nd World War, the Library was forced to change its residence into London where it became the department (The Warburg Institute) of the University of London. The thesis outlines shortly the history of Library in the context of Aby Warburg's life and his scientific work. The next chapters are devoted to the description of Library's classification scheme and the organization of books based on the open shelves system, both in the connection with Warburg's scholarly methods. Within the scope of these issues, the deeper analysis of the term "research library", which was not so far discussed adequately in Czech librarian discourse, is done. Some of the strategies and rules coined by Aby Warburg for the purposes of efficiency of open acces book collection are closely clarified - "the law of good neighbourhood", serendipity, and others.
