Tato diplomová práce se zabývá Českým velkopřevorstvím Suverénního řádu maltézských rytířů za převora Michaela Ferdinanda z Althannu. Snaží se popsat správní vývoj řádu od středověku do konce 18. století. První část diplomové práce pojednává o historickém vývoji řádu jak ve světě, tak na území koruny české a přibližuje postavení, strukturu a fungování jednotlivých řádových složek. Druhá část je věnována Frá Michaelu Althannovi, vekopřevorovi Českého velkopřevorství maltézského řádu (1767 - 1789), jeho vojenské a duchovní kariéře. It tries to describe the administrative development of the Order from the Middle Ages till the 18th century. The first part of Master thesis is mentioned the history of the order on the world either to the territory of the Czech crown and the closer position, structure and functioning of the various departements of the order.
