ÚVOD: Metabolický syndrom je soubor rizikových faktorů, které mají tendenci vyskytovat se společně a patří mezi hlavní příčiny kardiovaskulárních onemocnění a diabetu mellitu 2. typu. V léčbě rozvinutého metabolického syndromu dominuje farmakoterapie jeho jednotlivých složek. Tato terapie však obvykle řeší spíše následky než příčiny a staví pacienta do pozice pasivního příjemce léků. Ačkoliv by změna životního stylu měla být základním kamenem prevence i terapie metabolického syndromu, naprostá většina laické ani odborné veřejnosti netuší, jakým způsobem a do jaké míry může pomoci. CÍLE: Cílem této práce bylo nalézt doporučení týkající se pohybové aktivity a výživy ve vztahu k prevenci a terapii metabolického syndromu a jejich mechanismus účinku. METODY: Informace byly vyhledávány v odborných časopisech, knihách a na webových stránkách zdravotnických organizací. Z časopisů byly vybírány především přehledové články a meta-analýzy, z knih a webových stránek obecné informace a doporučení týkající se zkoumané problematiky. VÝSLEDKY: Dostupná literatura potvrdila, že modifikace pohybové aktivity a výživy mohou výrazně zlepšit všechny metabolické abnormality spojené s metabolickým syndromem. Zvýšení fyzické aktivity, snížení sedavého chování, výběr vhodného diety, omezení energetického příjmu, úprava... INTRODUCTION: Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of risk factors which tend to occur together and belong to the main causes of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. In the treatment of metabolic syndrome dominates pharmacotherapy of the individual components. However, this therapy usually addresses the consequences rather than the causes and puts the patient in the position of a passive recipient of drugs. Although a change of lifestyle should be the cornerstone of prevention and treatment of the metabolic syndrome, the vast majority of the general and professional public doesn't know how and to what extent it can help. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to find recommendations on physical activity and nutrition in relation to the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome and the mechanisms of action. METHODS: Information was sought in scientific journals, books and websites of healthcare organizations. Review articles and meta-analysis were selected primarily from the journals, general information and recommendations related to the issues discussed were obtained from the books and websites.
