A B S T R A K T Tato studie se zabývá vlivem katastrofické povodně na druhové a veli- kostní složení ryb v potravě ledňáčka říčního (Alcedo atthis) hnízdícího na pražském toku Botiče v roce 2013. Povodně v červnu 2013 zasáhly zejména Čechy a částečně Moravu. Rozvodněny byly vodní toky v celém povodí Vltavy, části povodí Labe a okrajově povodí Dyje. Vliv povodně na Botiči byl ještě umocněn živelným odpouštěním vody z Hostivařské přehrady. Stočtyřicetiletá voda na tomto toku napáchala značné škody na majetku a je pravděpodobné, že pozměnila i charakter a velikostní skladbu bioty, především ryb. Tato změna by se měla přirozeně odrazit i v potravě rybožravého ledňáčka říčního, který zde hnízdí a loví. Analýzou vývržkových sedimentů odebraných z hnízdních nor před a po katastrofické povodni bylo zjištěno druhové a velikostní složení po- travy ledňáčka říčního. V hnízdním sedimentu před povodní na Botiči v červnu 2013 byly nalezeny diagnostické kosti (kosti požerákové - ossa pharyngea a předskřelové - praeoperculare) 689 ryb 10 druhů a 3 čeledí (kaprovití - Cyprinidae, okounovití - Percidae, mřenkovití - Balitoridae). Průměrná délka ryb byla 6,5 cm, průměrná hmotnost 2,6 g a index di- verzity potravy 1,58. Po povodni byly v hnízdním sedimentu nalezeny... A B S T R A C T This study examines the impact of catastrophic flood on the species com- position and size of fish prey in the diet of kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) nest- ing in Prague's Botič stream in 2013. Floods in June 2013 affected mainly Bohemia and partly Moravia. The streams across the Vltava river basin, in part of the Elbe river basin and marginally in the Thaya river got swollen. The effect of the flood on the Botič stream was further ampli- fied by draining of water from the dam Hostivař. Hundred and forty year water caused considerable damage to property and it is likely that it also changed the character and size composition of biota, especially fish. This change should be reflected naturally in the diet of kingfisher, which nests and hunts here. The species composition and size of fish prey in the diet of kingfisher before and after the catastrophic flood was investigated from the mass of regurgitated pellets collected from nest tunnels and chambres. In the nesting sediment, 689 head diagnostic bones (pharyngeal bones - ossa pharyngea and preopercual bones - praeoperculare) were found before the flood on Botič stream in June 2013.
