The main objectives of the present project are: (i) To create and maintain the monitoring system for the occult precipitation observation and assessment (i.e. sample taking active devices were installed in the chosen urban areas and both active and passive collectors were installed in the comparative mountainous region ); (ii) to examine if site-to-site differences in cloud and fog water chemical composition exist in the urban areas with various contaminant load; (iii) to assess the dependence of the pollutant concentration on the fog type and meteorological conditions; (iv) to work out the so-called climatological standards describing the frequency and duration of the individual types of occult precipitation for each locality; (v) to study the physical basis of the cloud and fog water deposition on the solid obstacle with the use of the mathematical modelling (using of the micrometeorological model). Hlavní cíle předloženého projektu jsou: (i) zřídit a provozovat monitorovací síť pro účely sledování a oceňování usazených srážek (tj. ve vybraných urbanizovaných oblastech byly osazeny aktivní mlhoměry a ve srovnávacích horských oblastech byly osazeny jak aktivní tak pasivní mlhoměry); (ii) stanovit rozdíly v chemickém složení mlžné a oblačné vody v urbanizovaných oblastech s různou mírou znečištění; (iii) odhadnout vliv meteorologických podmínek a typu mlžné události na koncentraci polutantů v mlžné a oblačné vodě; (iv) pro každou vybranou lokalitu vypracovat statistické vyhodnocení četnosti výskytu a trvání jednotlivých typů usazených hydrometeorů; (v) studium fyzikální podstaty depozice vody z větrem hnané mlhy a oblačnosti na pevnou překážku za použití matematického modelování (použit je mikrometeorologický model).
