Hybrid turbulence models for strongly swirling flows
Kaplán, Martin ; Štefan, David (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to investigate using of hybrid turbulence models for strongly swirling flows. The work is focused on the possibility of applying a hybrid SBES model to simulate flow around a hydrofoil. The work further describes the creation of a mesh for the solved domain, the setting of boundary conditions and the setting of the solution for the software FLUENT. The simulation results are compared with experimentally measured values. The work also uses and evaluates data from PIV measurements. The knowledge that the paper brings as part of the results of a research project can be applied in the future in the design of blades of water turbines.
Flow Induced Vibration
Sázavský, Jakub ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
When a fluid flows around a solid body, it interacts with each other. Flow-induced vibrations may occur. This is an undesirable phenomenon which is particularly dangerous due to the potential for resonance. Measurement of such induced vibrations is difficult. The aim of this paper is to design an expedient experiment, to evaluate the flow-excited vibrations and pulsations and to attempt to determine the uncertainties. Measurements are made in a special test section, the cavitation tunnel, on a hydraulic profile at different flow rates and rotation angles. The blade is measured by two laser vibrometers supplemented by a piezoelectric pressure gauge. The acquired data are processed using an own program in MATLAB software. The output is individual frequency spectra and summary graphs. The realized measurements are evaluated with orientation to the necessary signal processing to obtain relevant results.

Hydrofoil pro kiteboarding -- návrh a výroba segmentu
Vlach, Marek
This work is about relation between material and technology for developing specific product used in field of sport equipment. Designed was mast or hydrofoil for kiteboarding. Basic part is about terminology, history, physical principle and actual market research. Next topic is related whit material selection, where is best choice carbon fiber reinforced composite. A description of composites goes from general information to specific steps in technology. Author describes practical experiences whit exclusive autoclave technology and also other methods. In practical part was prepared three prototypes whit deferent composition and technology. Core and moulds was made from wooden based materials which ware manufactured in three dimensions whit CNC machine. Fist prototype was laminated only on core, second used sandwich construction in mould and third combines these two methods.
