Vyhodnocení vlivu nekonvenčních způsobů léčby využívaných v ekologickém zemědělství na výskyt vybraných endoparazitů u koní
RANNÁ, Tereza
This bachelor thesis focuses on getting information about the effect of unconventional treatment against specific horse endoparasites used in ecological agriculture and applying it on chosen horse-breeding. The experiment was carried out with 14 horses from the same stable, divided into three herds. The horses were divided into two groups prior to the given dewormer. One group was treated unconventionally - by homeopathic remedy PVB etat vermieux. The second control group got allopathic drugs - chemical deworming paste (Noromectin Praziquantel Duo). Qualitative coprological examinations were performed to detect parasitic infection. The examinations were performed before the administration of both types of preparations and two weeks after the administration, weekly control coprological examinations were performed for a period of 5 weeks after the administration of the preparations. The last control coprological examination was performed in the veterinary laboratory on week 9 of the experiment. Except for one horse, all of them were attacked by small and large strongylides prior to administration, in one horse, equine tapeworm eggs were also present during the coprological examination. Allopathic drugs showed very good efficacy in coprological analyzes, only one horse (six-month-old foal) had horseworm eggs during the first five weeks. At the final control coprological examination, negative intensity was maintained in 5 of 6 horses. Low intensity of parasitic infection (+) was examined in one of these horses. During the first 5 weeks, only a partial decrease in parasitic infection was observed within the homeopathically treated horses, and one horse was maintained at a negative intensity during all coprological examinations. Results from week 9 confirmed the assumption that homeopathically treated horses will gradually reduce parasitic infection. Examinations showed negative intensity in 7 of 8 horses, which were given the homeopathic preparation PVB etat vermieux. Only one horse showed a low intensity of parasitic infection (+). The experiment showed comparable efficacy of allopathic and homeopathic deworming drugs.
Usage of alternative methods and natural products as means to increase immunity in the adult population of the Czech Republic
NEDBALOVÁ, Martina
For my diploma thesis I have chosen the topic of utilization of alternative methods and natural remedies as means of increasing immunity of the adult population of the Czech republic. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I deal with the explanation of basic terms related to the immune system, function of the immune system and its division, namely to non-specific and specific immunity and further to humoral and cellular immunity. In a separate chapter I talk about natural resources and procedures that support the immune system. I touch on the effects of homeopathy, phytotherapy, hardening, gemmotherapy, forest therapy and the usage of the food supplements. The last chapter deals with the influence of lifestyle on the functioning of the immune system. I talk here mainly about things that have negative influence on the immune system, such as lack of physical activity, lack of sleep, substance abuse and I also mention the negative impact of excessive stress on human health. The theoretical part is followed by the practical park, for which I've set myself four main goals. The primary goal is to determine whether, and if so, what procedures and products are used by the adult population of the Czech republic to improve their immunity. Furthermore, I try to find out whether there are people in the population who visit general practicioner even when they catch just a common cold. The third goal is to find out what is the attitude of the adult population of the Czech republic towards the use of homeopatics for bolstering the immune system. The final goal of the thesis is to find out whether the are adults who used or are still regularly using some food supplement as a preventive measure for bolstering the immune system. Part of this thesis is a quantitative research based on the method of questioning. The questionnaire was compiled on the basis of my research assumptions and it was published online for anonymous completion. My diploma thesis can be used for better orientation in this problematics, as source of information concerning strengthening of immunity by natural means and last but not least also as a guide for direct application of some alternative ways into your lifestyle and thus strengthening your immunity.
Use of homeopathy during pregnancy and childbirth
Oleksulinová, Eliška ; Jurigová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Tisová, Markéta (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to introduce basic facts about homeopathy, which is one of the most commonly used therapies among alternative treatments, and its use in obstetrics. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is an introduction to general homeopathy which is followed by an overview of the use of homeopathy during pregnancy, childbirth and during puerperium. Theoretical part focusing on homeopathy during pregnancy is divided into sections prezentant individual problems that may occur during this period, and describes the possibilities of homeopathic treatment. The subsequent part describes how homeopathy may help before childbirth and during childbirth. In the next chapter ways of possible uses of homeopathy during puerperium are outlined. The practical part of the thesis investigates opinios on the use of homeopathy in obstetrics by doctors and midwives who work at labor wards. A survey was made through an anonymous questionnaire. The analysis of the research data shows that the views on the use of homeopathy in obstetrics differ greatly between the midwife research group and the research group of doctors-obstetricians. It is clear from the research that the use of homeopathy in obstetrics is more supported by midwives then doctors. However,...
Výskyt endoparazitů u koní a možnosti prevence
ŠEJBOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the occurrence of endoparasites in horses and proposing prevention options using unconvential products and pasture management. In total 20 horses were included in the observation, who were all stabled on one farm. The observation took place during on pasture season. The first faecal examination was carried out for purpose of quantitative determination of parasites using the modified McMaster technique. The faecal analysis was carried out always before and after use of the homeopatihc and allopathic preparation. Horses were found to be infected by strongylides. Coprological analysis proved resistence to pyrantel embonate in 25 % of horses. After subsequent homeopathic treatment, the efficacy of this preparation was found in several horses, with EPG (eggs per gram) not exceeding 200. The effect of season on the rate of infection was monitored, when the effect of season wasn´t statiscially confirmed (p = 0,28). In assessing the effect of age on the intensity of infection, it was confirmed that older horses had lower parasitic infection rates than the young horses. After administration of active substance ivermectin to both groups of horses, a significant difference was observed when using this active substance against pyrantel embonate, which showed an excellent effect in 95 % horses. The homeopatic preparation of PVB etat vermieux can be used as an aditional preventive treatment during the year in horses that are sensitive to it. At the same time, it is important to regularly perform coprological faecal analysis and suitably choose an allopathic remedy, it is important to focus on preventive measures in horse breeding and pasture.
Homeopathic cure impact on human health
PECHOVÁ, Nikola
The focus of this Diploma Thesis is to discover the awareness of homeopathy. Previous experience of responders with this type of treatment. If they don't mistake homeopathy for other type of alternative medicine and whether their experience has been positive, neutral or even negative. Another important goal is to examine the consequences of homeopathic treatment from the particular homeopath or a qualified expert. The difference between the treatment and diagnosis of the certain homeopaths. And also, the course of the visit. Primarily, the effect of homeopathic preparations on the health of the individual. A combination of quantitative and qualitative research was chosen to process these goals. The quantitative research is evaluated using an anonymous poll in electronic form. The qualitative research is processed using a semi-structured interview. The goal of the theoretical part is a mere view of the issue. It contains chapters that outline the basics of homeopathy, its use, homeopathic preparations, their production and the limits of homeopathic treatment. The Diploma Thesis contains an objective view of homeopathic treatment and assessment of its influence on the health of the individual.
The use of homeopathy in horse breeding
BAŠTÝŘOVÁ BRUTOVSKÁ, Anna
The main aim of the diploma thesis is to compare the effectivity of homeopathy and classic chemical way of deworming of horses. In total 18 horses were included in the observation, who were all stabled on one farm. The observation took place during one pasture season. The first faecal examination was carried out for the purpose of qualitative analysis of occurrence of parasites in horses' digestive tract. Subsequently, each faecal examination was realized as a quantitative analysis using the modified McMaster technique. Faecal analysis was carried out always before and after the use of both dewormers (homeopathic and allopathic). The horses treated with homeopathic dewormer were tested more frequently. Faecal sample diagnostics showed contamination by only two types of parasites, small and large strongyles. Coprology analysis proved excellent effectivity of allopathic dewormers and zero resistance to the active substance. The homeopathic dewormer managed to keep some horses at low level infection, where EPG was below 200 (eggs per gram). The effectivity of both dewormers was realized in three cases. Faecal analysis after anthelmintic treatment was chosen in the first case. In the second case the difference between the two dewormers was analyzed after a given period of time following the application. In the third case the overall differences between both dewormers were assessed. It can be stated that the homeopathic dewormer PVB etat vermieux can be successfully used as supplementary and prophylactic treatment of horses during the year. At the same time it is important to give attention to regular faecal analysis and eventual use of allopathic dewormers after the testing. The use of homeopathy, however, is advantageous from both the ecological and health point of view.

First aim of the Bachelor Thesis was to obtain opinions about Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period by midwifes. Based on this aim the research question was formed: What is the attitude of the midwifes to Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period? The second aim was to to find out the experience with Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period. The research question is: What kinds of experience have midwifes with Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period? The next aim of this Bachelor Thesis was to obtain opinions of the women about Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period. The formed research question is: What kinds of opinionhave the women about Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period? The fourth aim was to find out the experience of the women with Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period. The relevant research question is: Which experiences have the women with Homeopathic, Acupuncture and Acupressureduring pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period? The quantity method with half-structured interviews was used for the research. Empirical part was carried out between December 2012 and March 2013. The examined file was built of ten respondents - five midwifes and five women who used at least one of these methods during pregnancy, delivery and puerperium period. Due to two examined files two types of interviews had to be made. The data were recorded or written down by hand. Records were after the interview written down in standard language. Afterwards the classification of the data was made by using colour marks to be able to find easier the main topics. By interpreting quotations of the respondents were used. The result of the research was that the relationship of midwifes to Homeopathy is mainly positive. One midwife had a different opinion. Acupuncture is not as close to midwifes as the Homeopathy. Two midwifes had a positive opinion to this method. Three were indifferent which is to explain as a positive and negative opinion in certain matters. Acupressure was evaluated in all cases as positive. Homeopathy is the most prevalent method. All five midwifes have a personal experience with Homeopathy. Three from five use this method in practice. Acupuncture is not used by anyone. Only one midwife has her own experience with Acupuncture. Acupressure is used by two midwifes of five in practice. Two midwifes described a personal experience with Acupressure, but they do not use it in practice. One midwife has neither a personal experience nor uses the method in practice. From the results it was clearly visible that all women have a positive opinion about Homeopathy. From the further answers results that two women have a positive opinion about Acupuncture. Two women have an indifferent opinion? one was not sure about the capabilities of the therapist and the other was unsure about the effectiveness of the method. The last woman had a negative opinion. All questioned women have an experience with Homeopathic treatment none of them evaluated the treatment negatively. Experiences with Acupuncture have three respondents, two have never tried it. Four women have got the experience with Acupressure with a positive result. Only one has no experience with the Acupressure.
