Title: A Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of Closed Patella Fracture Thesis Aim: This thesis involves a case study on physiotherapeutic approach to a 35 year old male with closed patella fracture, 8 weeks after incident. This case study was conducted in the month of January of 2012 at Ústřední Vojenská Nemocnice under the supervision of physiotherapist Martina Puchmertlova. Materials used during this study include treatment table, measurement tape, neurological hammer, goniometer, overball, various sized pillows, and balance boards of different shape. The theoretical part aims to explain anatomical structure, biomechanics, kinesiology and etiology of this type of fractures. While the practical part refers to the case study; the examinations used and the effectiveness of the therapy with the approaches used. Methods: The therapy started with initial kinesiological examination. Along with the therapeutic methods taught at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, the chosen procedures included: post isometric relaxation and stretching by Lewit, soft tissues techniques by Lewit, sensomotoric training and mobilization by Lewit. Lastly final kinesiological examination was conducted. To enhance the effects of the therapy, the patient has been in addition required to perform home therapies as...

Title: A case study of the Physiotherapy treatment of gonarthrosis (arthrosis of the knee joint). Thesis aim: The following case study was conducted on a 70-year old woman in February 2012 with the diagnosis of gonarthrosis (arthrosis of the knee joint) at Revmatolicky Ustav. The aim of the thesis was to report the case study of gonarthrosis (arthrosis of the knee joint) and review knowledge about anatomy, neurology, kinesiology and pathology underlying the patients condition, and in addition an attempt to review the development of this diagnosis. The second part includes the patients anamnesis, kinesiological examinations and the therapy itself in details. Clinical findings: The patient recently was operated for the gonarthrotis with a total endoprosthesis, and pain, decreased range of motion and lack of muscle strength that usually follows after this was treated, and the treatment showed great progress in terms of development of the above mentioned. Results: After the 7 treatment sessions the patient underwent great progress in terms of pain, range of motion and muscle imbalance. Methods: Along with therapeutic procedures taught from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, the procedures included: soft tissue techniques by Lewit, post isometric relaxation by Lewit and various strength...
Case report of physiotherapeutic care of patient after implantation of unicompartmental knee replacement
Slaná, Jana ; Novotná, Irena (advisor) ; Reckziegelová, Petra (referee)
Title: Case report of physiotherapeutic care of patient after implantation of unicompartmental knee replacement Summary: This study focuses on the kazuistic of the patient with unicompartmental knee replacement. It consists of a general and a specialized part. In the first theoretical part are described the anatomic structures, biomechanics of the knee, gonarthrosis, the conservative and surgical treatment of gonarthrosis, and are also discussed approaches of physiotherapy in patients after partial knee replacement. The main part of thesis is the specialized part. In this second part, a case report is described. It contains anamnesis, initial kinesiologic examination, course of the therapy, final kinesiologic examination and evaluation of the therapy. The results of physiotherapeutic care of the patient are: increased range of motion of the knee, improvement of muscular strength of lower limbs and the overall improvement of the patient, leading to self-sufficiency. The main objective of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive view on the issue of unicondylar knee joint and the practical application of physiotherapy practices for selected patient. Key words: Knee joint; unicondylar endoprotesthesis; physiotherapy.

Gottwaldová, Lucie ; Melli, Klára (advisor) ; Bednářová, Šárka (referee)
Title of bachelor thesis: Case study: Physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of lumbar and other intervertebral discs disease with radiculopathy Aims: To summarize the theoretical knowledge about functional anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology of axial system, the pathophysiology of degenerative vertebral disease and about vertebrogenic radicular syndromes its diagnosis and therapy. Concept and execution of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with a subsequent evaluation of its effect. Methods: This thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and special. The theoretical part is processed in the form of research and includes theoretical knowledge regarding the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of vertebrogenic radicular syndromes. The special part is processed in the form of case study. Results: The chosen therapy had a positive effect on the patient. Increased strength of paretic muscles of left lower limb, improved the dynamics of the spine, adjusted muscle imbalances in the area of pelvic girdle, improved posture and gait stereotype. Key words: axial system, intervertebral disc, degeneration of intervertebral disc, vertebrogenic radicular syndrome, physiotherapy
Thoracic Outlet Syndrom
Chasáková, Ludmila ; Demeková, Júlia (advisor) ; Babková, Lenka (referee)
Thoracic outlet syndrome is a syndrome involving compression at the superior thoracic outlet, wherein excess pressure placed on a neurovascular bundle passing between the anterior scalene and middle scalene muscles. According to the predominant symptoms we can distinguish neurogenic, arterial and venous syndrome. Treatment is either the surgical removal of structures causing compression or conservative measures aimed at decompressing the oppressed structures through functional activation of surrounding area. The thesis presents an overview of available findings on this issue, followed by case report of a patient with venous TOS.

Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after removal of osteosynthetic material for comminuted fracture of the proximal humerus Objectives: The objective of this bachelor's work is to describe issues of comminuted fracture of the proximal humerus which is treated with osteosynthesis with subsequent removal due to failure. The main objective is to focus on efficiency of physiotherapy methods which are used. The part of work is also case study of a patient with referred diagnosis. Method: The first general part of work deals with referred issues. It describes anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of shoulder girdle then characterize diagnosis of a fracture of the proximal part of humerus, possible complications, methods of treatment and the most often used methods in rehabilitation care of a patient with this diagnosis. The second special part is processed as case study of a patient after removal of osteosynthetic material for comminuted fracture of the proximal humerus and it includes input physiotherapy examination, short-term and long-term physiotherapy plan, suggestion of therapy, description of all the physiotherapy units, output physiotherapy examination and conclusion which contains an evaluation of effect of chosen therapy. The special part is written on the basis of...

9 Abstract Title: Case Study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of periprostetic fracture osteosynthesis of a left femur in the osteopetrotic ground after left coxa total hip arthroplasty Objectives: The objective of this thesis was to study the literature concerning the topic, elaborate a case study of a concrete patient and verify my capacities while working with a patient. Methods: The general part has the form of a literature search and it presents the knowledge concerning the patient's diagnose. The special part consists of the case study of the patient elaborated during a continuous professional training supervised by an experienced physiotherapist. While working with the patient, several methods were used: the examination by aspection, the examination of soft tissue and of joint play, the measure of the lower extremities, the goniometry, the measure of the muscle power, of the shortened muscles, the neurological examination, the motor stereotype examination and the test of activities of daily living. Furthermore, therapeutic methods were used to deal with the examined pathology. Results: The thesis offers a theoretical insight to the problematic of osteopetrosis and osteosynthesis of fractures, which is accompanied by a case study of a concrete patient. As the Czech resources...
