The Identification of the Demand
Feldbabel, Vít ; Fotr, Martin (referee) ; Luňáček, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to work out demand for various kinds of commodities of current consumption by conducting a survey. From the polled data, a function of price demand elasticity of selected commodities is drawn up, on which suggestions to sellers for turnover maximization is based.
Mathematical Models of Demand
Trzaskaliková, Eva ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Mezník, Ivan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the analyses of demand using standard tools of engineering mathematics. Mathematical models of demand, both single and multi- factor are investigated. Elasticity of demand is applied for decision making in price policy. Problems of optimization of demand reflecting utility and budget constraints are under consideration. Constructions of demand curve and compensated demand curve are presented. The text is accompanied by illustrative examples aiming at methodical aspects of the work
The Aplication of Microeconomic Aprroaches for Management of a Company
Martincová, Barbora ; Kubová, Pavla (referee) ; Luňáček, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is devided into three parts. The first part is devoted to theoretical solutions like distribution of demand and supply, definition of financial analyse and statistical indicators (time series or two-dimensional data sets). In second part analyzes the company and I apply this theoretical solutions and in the last third part are describes suggestion for improvement.
Demand for gas: Evidence from the 2022 energy crisis
Stuchlík, Jan ; Pertold-Gebicka, Barbara (advisor) ; Opatrný, Matěj (referee)
This thesis analyzes the effects of the 2022 energy crisis on changes in consump- tion patterns among Czech households, with the main focus on natural gas and other energy sources. We captured the effects using income and cross-price elas- ticity of expenditure shares of various goods. We calculated these elasticities from estimated parameters of a quadratic almost ideal demand system. The system parameters were estimated using the iterated feasible generalized non- linear least squares method on household-level data collected by PAQ Research. Demand for gas is income-elastic during the energy crisis, contrasting with other energy sources. Households made significant adjustments to their consumption of luxury goods and necessities in response to the high energy prices. The cross- price elasticity estimates show a decrease in expenditure shares of luxury goods and distant heat in relation to higher gas prices. Reduced healthcare and trans- port expenditure shares and increased solid fuels expenditure shares are related to higher electricity prices. In response to rising prices of necessities, households generally decrease expenditure shares of luxury goods. Households' reactions to the energy crisis are heterogeneous among socio-economic groups.
Use of Product Price Discrimination in International Markets
Tempír, Stanislav ; Pavláková Dočekalová, Marie (referee) ; Luňáček, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis is aimed at making specific recommendations on price discrimination for a company operating in international markets. These recommendations are supported by calculations of purchasing power parity, price elasticity of demand and analyses of primary and secondary data from European markets. The thesis is structured in three main parts, the first dealing with the theoretical background, the second with the company and the selected markets and the last part with the recommendations themselves.
Dopyt na spotrebiteľskom trhu s hovädzím mäsom na Slovensku
Némethová, Lucia
Némethová, L., Consumer demand for the beef meat in Slovakia. Bachelor Thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2017. Bachelor thesis deals with analysis of the economic structure of consumer demand for beef meat in market of Slovak households and compares it with the three selected countries of the European Union - the Czech Republic, Sweden and Romania. The thesis emphasizes the price and income relations, where it quantifies the differences in consumers behavior based on the coefficients of price and income elasticity of demand. Coefficients are obtained from assembled consumption patterns in econometric program Gretl. The analysis is based on data from national statistical offices of beef consumption, price and income of the population observed for a period of 15 years. Assembled models for each country are economic, statistical and econometric verified. The resulting values of elasticity coefficients are interpreted and compared with each other. The last chapter is dedicated to adjust the marketing strategy of Slovak companies dealing with the processing and marketing of beef meat.
Vliv změn daňového břemene tabákových výrobků na jejich spotřebu
Konečná, Alena
This thesis is focused on identifying the influence of changes in tax burden imposed on cigarettes on their consumption in the Czech Republic. The individual results of the work are based on analysis of completed data on average weighted and unweighted prices and consumption of cigarettes for the period 2004 - 2016 and according to the questionnaire survey. In the conclusion of the thesis, the directly proportional relationship between the selling price of cigarettes and the tax imposed was confirmed, inversely proportional relationship between the consumption and the selling price of cigarettes or the tax imposed. The demand for cigarettes is inelastic in the case of a slight one-time tax change and differs between the younger and older categories of smokers.
Návrh na změnu sazby spotřební daně z tabákových výrobků s ohledem na financování zdravotnictví
Trubačová, Michaela
This diploma thesis focuses on the excise taxes of tobacco products. It examines the price elasticity of demand of tobacco products. In what cases and why its sellers shift the tax burden on consumers. Respectively, what effect has the increase of price of to-bacco products and consequently the effect on consumption and the revenues of nation-al budget. The aim of the thesis is to compare health care expenditures concerning the treatment of diseases which were caused by smoking, with the amount of financial means which are contributed to the treatment by the country. The amount of the special taxes which is used to treat smoking-related to diseases are based on the values which were determined and calculated with regard to a possible tax evasion due to the non-legal trade.
