Influence of working conditions on the results of EDS in ESEM
Pospíchal, David ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Čudek, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with energy dispersion spectroscopy and detection of characteristic X-rays in the field of environmental scanning electron microscope. The aim of the semester work is to compare the results of elemental microanalysis of samples under optimal conditions and to monitor changes of results, when changing working conditions, resp. nitrogen and water vapor pressure in the sample chamber of the scanning electron microscope Vega3 XMU with LaB6 cathode. TESCAN, a.s equipped with Xflash 6 | 10 spectrophotometer. Bruker
Pumping analysis in the experimental chamber for electron microscope using ANSYS system
Dostalová, Petra ; Bílek, Michal (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis is focused on issue of pumping in the differential pumped chambre of an environmental scanning microcope. In the theoretical part, there are presented microscopy as science. Afterwards the thesis is focused on environmental scanning electron microscopy and its problem and vakuum system, computer program used for preparation of simulation and study that the experimental part is based on. The experimental part contains the results of gas flow in the differential pumped chambre. The problematics were solved by Ansys Fluent system.
Scintillation SE detector for ESEM
Odehnal, Adam ; Špinka, Jiří (referee) ; Jirák, Josef (advisor)
Thesis deals with theoretical knowledge about scanning electron microscopy and environmental scanning electron microscopy. It describes principle of operation, signals generated by interaction between primary electron beam and specimen and means of detection of secondary electron signal in environmental conditions using scintillation detector. Furthermore, thesis focuses on optimization of detection od secondary electrons by adjusting electrode system of scintillation detector. Computer program Simion is used for modelling signal electron trajectories for proper adjustments. Simulation were starting-point for adjusting the design of the detector. Detection efficiency of adjusted detector was determined by evaluating signal magnitude from captured images, secondary electron detection capability from voltage contrast and quality of the captured images from signal/noise ratio.
Ionization detector for environmental scanning electron microscope
Melechovský, Ondřej ; Čudek, Pavel (referee) ; Jirák, Josef (advisor)
Presented work deals with environmental scanning electron microscopy. The construction of the device is described concisely in the beginning. Important part is devoted to interaction of electrons with specimen and signals emitted from the specimen. The work aims especially at detection of secondary electrons using the ionization detector. Experimentally is determined effect of working environment and size of electrode system of ionization detector on detected signal.
Using Computer Aided Engineering for analyse the detector
Vyroubal, Petr ; Polsterová, Helena (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with influence of the shape comparison of convergent and Laval nozzles in the secondary electron detector shutters to the resulting pressure and gas flow in the secondary electron detector for environmental scaning electron mictoscope. To the detector analysis are used Computer Aided Engineering systems CAD and CAE, SolidWorks and SolidWorks Flow Simulation.
Ionization detector for ESEM
Pokluda, Tomáš ; Špinka, Jiří (referee) ; Jirák, Josef (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the environmental scanning electron microscopes including a description of the basic physical mechanisms. It describes the design and realization of the electrode ionization detector system suitable for the detection of signal electrons with a greater proportion of secondary electrons. It also deals with simulations of trajectories of electrons in the electrostatic field of the detector, and with verification of the functionality of the detector in the environment of water vapors in the specimen chamber of the electron microscope.
Influence of nozzle angle on gas pressure distribution in the nozzle according to Prandtl's theory
Dostalová, Petra ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Šabacká, Pavla (advisor)
The thesis is focused on issue pressure distribution in the nozzle while pumping the differential pumped chambre of an environmental scanning microcope. The main task of the thesis is to find suitable design of this nozzle respect to Prandtl`s theory. In the theoretical part, there are presented microscopy as science. Afterwards the thesis is focused on environmental scanning electron microscopy and its problem and vacuum system, computer program used for preparation of simulation and study that the experimental part is based on. The experimental part evaluates the results of physical-mathematical analysis of the flow inside and behind the Laval nozzle in the experimental chambre. The results are the basis for the optimal proportions of this nozzle.

Analysis of the impact of the baffle placement in the supersonic flow in the differentially pumped chamber
Vlasáková, Martina ; Bílek, Michal (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the area of the differential pumping chamber of an environmental scanning electron microscope, engaging the pressure limiting apertures and the influence of the enclosure inside the chamber. In the theoretical part, it is first called Microscopy as science, information about microscopes (division of microscopes) and electrons. Afterwards, the theory deals directly with environmental scanning electron microscopy and its problems and vacuum system, mathematical models and computational areas, basic information about the comparative study from, which the thesis is based. In the experimental part there are presented the objectives of the work and the chapter dealing with the processing of results, which are compared with the initial study using the program Ansys Fluent.
