Classification of cardiac cycles
Lorenc, Patrik ; Škutková, Helena (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This work deals with the classification of cardiac cycles, which uses a method of dynamic time warping and cluster analysis. Method of dynamic time warping is among the elderly, but for its simplicity compared to others is still very much used, and also achieved good results in practice. Cluster analysis is used in many fields such as marketing or just for biological signals. The aim of this work is a general introduction to the ECG signal and the method and implementation of dynamic time warping algorithm. Subsequently, cluster analysis and finally the creation of the user interface for the algorithms.
ECG preamplifier with floating input and calibration
Florián, Antonín ; Rampl, Ivan (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
This thesis deals with amplifiers that are usable for reading of EKG signals. The first part of the thesis deals with the history of EKG and with the features of the EKG signal. The second part of the thesis deals with general requirements and safety requirements that are imposed on EKG preamplifiers. A very important part of the thesis is the description of particular parts of EKG preamplifier and the ways how to acquire reduction of disturbance. The last part of this thesis is focused on design of ECG preamplifier with floating input and calibration. ECG preamlifier is designed for battery power.
Alternative ECG measurement using flexible electrodes for scanning of electrical potentials on the human body
Hylský, Václav ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Malý, Petr (referee)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to measure ECG signal using experimental textile electrodes. The theoretical part deals with heart anatomy, the placement of the heart within the rib cage, heart's electrical activity and ways of measuring it using electrocardiography as well as alternative ECG systems. The practical part of this thesis deals with the use of an experimental ECG T-shirt and wearable electronic equipment. This part also includes the description of the examination method as well as of the equipment which processes and records the signal. The next part this thesis deals with laboratory testing of the experimental ECG T-shirt on a selected sample of people. It also includes an assessment of the measurement results. Keywords: Conductive fabric, electrocardiography, electrocardiogram, electrodes
Nurses' knowledge of electrocardiography
Fialová, Iveta ; Křivková, Jana (advisor) ; Nikodemová, Hana (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the general knowledge of nurses in the area of electrocardiography, hence also its name Knowledge of nurses about electrocardiography. In the theoretical part, electrography, its history, recordings, pathological rhythms and nursing care associated with rhythm detection are described. In the empirical part, the results of quantitative research carried out by the questionnaire are interpreted over the methodology. At the end of the thesis are summarized the results of the questionnaire survey, which shows shortcomings in education during preparation for the general nurse's profession. These deficiencies are then manifested by insufficient knowledge of the recognition of basic pathological ECG rhythms, eventual defibrillation of some pathological rhythms. The lowest knowledge in this area has nurses with secondary education only. From the questionnaire survey, it is clear that nurses would appreciate not only more tuition during their general nurse training, but would also take part in electrocardiography workshops.

Physical examinations for adults performed by nurse in practitioner´s ordination.
MANČUŠKOVÁ, Zdenka
This bachelor thesis deals with physical examination, the monitoring of physiological functions and the recording of cardiographs by nurses in private practice examination rooms. The thesis contains two parts. The first, and theoretical, part of the thesis is focused on the explanation of certain terms and a description of what it means to provide a physical examination, monitoring of physiological functions and recording cardiographs. The physical examination is focused around human senses. Sight (inspection), hearing (auscultation), touching (palpation), knocking (percussion), per rectum examination, and smelling are all considered methods of examination. Body temperature, breathing, pulse and blood pressure are considered physiological or vital functions. The electrocardiogram signifies cardiac activity in the form of a line, which is drawn by a gadget called an electrocardiogram (ECG). Activities executed by nurses in a private practice exam rooms can be divided into four groups: preventative, diagnostic, medical and administrative group. A nurse provides patients with medical educative materials, samples biological material, monitors clients physiological functions, gives injections, changes bandages, sends preventative examination invitations, orders medical material and equipment etc. The second part contains investigative research. The empirical investigation was performed using the qualitative method in a form of a semi structured interview and direct observation during the interview. In an interview with eight nurses, who all work in private practices, the nurses were asked 15 basic questions. The nurses were observed as they each examined a separate patient. The observation was done based on 32 observation criteria. The observation results were compared with the results of the interviews. Based on their close relation to physical examination, monitoring of physiological functions and cardiograph was added.
