The theme of predestination in the Spanish play Life Is a Dream.

If the play Life Is a Dream is known for something, it is the thematic conflict between the power of fate (predestination) and the free will. Firstly, this thesis situates said drama in the historical and literary context of Spanish Baroque period and then it goes on to focus on the author Pedro Calderón de la Barca and any major life events that might have influenced his work. Primarily, though, the thesis is dedicated to a thematic analysis of the play Life Is a Dream with attention to the topic of predestination. (in English) The topic of this thesis is the loneliness in Gabriel García Márquez's One Hundred Years of Loneliness. It's engaging in differentiation of loneliness and solitude and the comparation of personal loneliness and the loneliness of the society, in this case the loneliness of Macondo. It's essential to mention the subject of the novel and the situation in real Latin America. It's reflected in Márquez's novel. The most important topic of the thesis is the loneliness which touches every caracter from the novel and it's the accompany of the reader. Itś accompany of the reader in real life and that's because I've chosen this topic.
The poetics of spontaneity in the Hispanic - American "rainforest novel"

This dissertation thesis is dedicated to the phenomenon of spontaneity in the Hispanic-American rainforest novel. The concept of spontaneity is based on the mechanism of synthesis of components in the structure of an artistic text. These components are a part of the variability of the analyzed novels. Heterogeneous structures are created on the basis of spontaneity and their result is interpretation variability of a literary work. This multiple meaning enables the reader not to lose interest in this kind of work over time. The theoretical explanation of the spontaneity in the literature is based on the concept of transculturation created by the Uruguayan essayist Ángel Rama and the terms of intentionality and unintentionality defined by Jan Mukařovský. The dissertation thesis is divided in two parts: the first one is dedicated to the formal aspect of the phenomenon of spontaneity and the second one to the thematic point of view. The whole process of synthesis finishes in the final chapter with a decomposition of a storm, when the element of water separates from the element of fire to be able to rejoin each other and create a new storm. This characteristic movement for the phenomenon of spontaneity follows the cyclic process of synthesis and separation of the components in the literary work....
Woman in post-war spanish literature: Nothing and Diamante Square

Hispanic studies. - Supervisor: doc. Juan Antonio Sánchez Fernández, Ph.D. Prague: FF UK, 2017. pp. 63 The theme of this bachelor thesis is a female character in Spanish post-war literature. The thesis concentrates on two significant works of this period: Nothing from an author Carmen Laforet and Diamond square, written by Mercé Rodoreda. Firstly, the thesis is dedicated to clarification of literary-historical context of Catalan and Spanish literature in which both novels emerge. It also points to historical-political situation as a background of narration of the novels. Secondly it examines female post-war literature with its representative authors from a global view. Further, it turns its attention to biographies of the authors as their novels contain autobiographical features. In the end, it analyses main characters of the novels from women's point of view that are tied up by social conventions and a patriarchal dictate. It shows women's everyday reality in its unidealized form where women are trying to find their place within a men's world. The journey motif in ¡Écue-Yamba-Ó!

This thesis analyses the journey motif in the novel ¡Écue-Yamba-Ó!, which was written by Alejo Carpentier in 1933. The author had to leave Cuba, his birth country, for political reasons. He moved to Paris for 11 years where he gained a lot of inspiration for his literary production. The thesis therefore sets Carpentier to the cultural and historical context. Afterwards deliberates over variants of journey in literature, describes the journey horizontal, vertical, of life and the encounter motif, which is relationed to the journey motif. In the main part applies the theoretical findings to the analysis of the novel ¡Écue-Yamba-Ó!. Journeys in the novel are undergone especially by its protagonist Menegildo, but also by the most important woman character Longina. In the final part the thesis presents the theory of lo real maravilloso and sketches other adaptations of the journey motif in later novels of Alejo Carpentier.
