Study of Inkjet Inks Degradative Processes
Samcová, Kateřina ; Čeppan, Michal (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis follows the degradation of inkjet print by ultraviolet radiation and ozone effect for different types of papers. Colour test charts for the evaluation of accelerated ageing effect of ultraviolet light and gas fading were designed. These test charts were printed by dye-based inks on selected receiving media and exposed to ozone-enriched environment, UV radiation and their combination. The colorimetric values L* a* b* were calculated from spectral data of all patches of the test charts. The ozone effect on the prints was evaluated in the terms of total colour difference and dye concentration. The degradation of dye caused by ozone was observed also in a long-term period, after the contact of sample with ozone was terminated. Results of printed samples accelerated ageing by UV radiation and those that were influenced by the ozone effect were evaluated in the same way. It was found out that UV radiation and ozone treatment have a different effect on the degradation of dyes. The degradation rate is also strongly influenced by the receiving layer composition of papers used for inkjet printing. Also the catalytic effect of dyes was evaluated.

This diploma thesis deals with the study of inkjet print degradation on handmade paper modified by polymer layer containing light stabilizers and inorganic filler. The polymer layer coated on the medium consisted of polyvinylalcohol, titanium dioxide and light stabilizer. The influence of light promoted degradation and light stabilizers was observed. The experiments were carried out on Q-SUN Xenon Test Chamber device, Model Xe-1-B/S. Colorimetric values of test chart were measured and the influence of different light stabilizers on the color difference between original and faded sample was evaluated.
Optical sensor for UV radiation
Třešňáková, Andrea ; Drbohlavová, Jana (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with monitoring of photocatalytic activity on prepared optical sensors for UV illumination. A polymeric matrix was prepared based on the redox dye Acid Red 1, titanium dioxide and calibration agents. The deposition of matrix was done by material printing – roll-to-roll printer – on PET film. This resulted in optical dosimeter for UV illumination. Finally, the validity of the reciprocity law was proved.
Accelerated ageing of ink-jet printouts
Buteková, Silvia ; Reháková,, Milena (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
Ink jet printing displaces in consequence its versatility the forefront in the printing applications. The prints must be stable for archiving, even if they are exposed to the environment. Now, the improvement of photo stability of ink jet prints is an important goal. This bachelor thesis deals with the ageing of prints produced by ink jet technology. The attention was paid to the influence of light on durability of prints especially. The experiment was made under natural conditions (ageing owing to sunlight). The changes of printed colours were evaluated after some chosen colorimetric quantities were measured.
Advanced Heterostructured Ceramic Materials
Drdlík, Daniel ; Lapčík,, Lubomír (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (referee) ; Cihlář, Jaroslav (advisor)
The doctoral thesis is orientated to preparation of advanced ceramic materials by electrophoretic deposition (EPD). The vertical mode of EPD in constant current regime was used in this study. The morphology of prepared materials (image structural analysis), physical properties (EPD yields, relative density, roughness of deposit surface) and mechanical properties (hardness, fracture toughness, elastic module) were characterized on the prepared deposits from alumina (Al2O3), zirconia (ZrO2) or their composites. It was found that the surface charge of alumina or zirconia particles was opposite (inversion charge) in stabilized isopropanolic dispersions than in case of water dispersions. The model of alumina or zirconia particles “inverse” stabilization was proposed. This type of EPD was further studied in presence of different acidic stabilizers. The obtained results from the experimental work (-potential and electric conductivity of dispersions, EPD yields, relative density of deposits, roughness of deposit surface etc.) showed the monochloracetic acid as the optimal type of acidic stabilizer. The kinetic of EPD process from dispersions containing isopropanol, monochloracetic acid and Al2O3 or ZrO2 particles and its influence on the final properties of prepared deposits was studied. The new method of kinetic measurement was developed. Due to good knowledge of EPD kinetic the ceramic laminates (Al2O3/ZrO2) with optimized layer thickness were prepared. The internal stresses and their influence on crack trajectory in ceramic laminates contained 100-150 strongly bonded layers were studied. It was found that the dominant role of crack deflection played the internal compressive stresses, i.e. with increasing of amount of internal compressive stresses the crack deflection was also increased. This work brought a new knowledge in the area of non-aqueous ceramic dispersion stabilization and preparation of heterostructured ceramic materials.
Sol-gel process using reverse micelles
Peroxotitanate gels suitable for piezoelectric print
Fuksa, Andrej ; Pekárková, Jana (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This thesis provide information about deposition of thin layers from peroxotitanate precursor. Precursor containing peroxotitanic acid and mixture of solvents (isopropanol and ethyleneglykol), was printed with the ink-jet material printer. Glass slides were used as a substrate. Prepared layers of gel did not show photocatalytic activity, therefore calcination at 450 °C, was used to a gel conversion. Structure of the layers was characterized using optical and SEM microscopy. Photoactivity of the layers was studied by a hydroxy-lation of cumarine.
