Models of integer-valued time series
Jarešová, Lucia ; Prášková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Vaněček, Pavel (referee)
In the presented work the generalized integer valued processes GINAR founded on the Steutel and van Harn generalized operator are studied. Properties of this operator, which are based on the sum of i.i.d. random variables are investigated including the determination of the domain of the operator and suggestion of possible construction of this operator. The attention is given on a weak stationary GINAR(p), the main properties of this process are described and it is shown that this process has an AR(p) representation, where the white noise consists of martingale differences. Further, the parameter estimators are described and consequently tested on extensive simulation with differently distributed innovations. The results are compared according to MSE. The work also contains a real data application. At the end the vector processes VGINAR are mentioned, that can also have a VAR representation. The functions for the program environment R are included.
Modelling of terrain and its modifications
Danihelka, Jiří ; Kolingerová, Ivana (advisor) ; Vaněček, Pavel (referee)
This thesis is about intuitive terrain modeling for needs of computer games. The thesis is searching for a method of terrain modeling that will be easy for people with lack of experience. The method also should be able to allow powerful modeling techniques for professionals game creators. The thesis debate about choosing appropriate method and compare different methods between each other. Selected is the method of moving control points of Bezier patches. The thesis presents a program Terrain Editor that was created as part of the thesis. The program implements selected method and demonstrates its use in practice.
Cluster analysis methods and their applications in marketing
Dvořák, Marek ; Vaněček, Pavel (advisor) ; Prášková, Zuzana (referee)
In this work we study algorithms for cluster analysis and their application to the real data. In the beginning, the various types of data are presented. We define dissimilarity measures for each type of data and for clusters to be able to do the clustering and evaluate the separation quantitatively. In the Chapter 2, there are described partitioning algorithms and some criteria to determine the optimal number of clusters. A part of this chapter is devoted to the fuzzy cluster analysis which is a generalization of partitioning techniques. Hierarchical algorithms are characterized in Chapter 3 as well as criteria for choosing the appropriate method. In the very end of this chapter, there is a comparison of all the methods in terms of various types of the separation functionals. Archetypal analysis, which is another data mining instrument, is described in Chapter 4. All chapters include illustration examples of usage. The main application part is the last chapter of this diploma thesis and it's based on the lifestyle survey in the Czech republic.
