The concept of space in short stories of Julio Ramón Ribeyro Sára Jakoubková Abstract The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to capture the space in the short stories of Julio Ramón Ribeyro, a Peruvian writer from the Generation of the 5Os in Peru, whose work exhibits a combination of social criticism, fantasy, and humour that reflects the hopeless life of Peruvian inhabitants, as reflected in the title of his most famous collection of short stories, Palabra del mudo (Marginal Voices). The first part of the thesis focuses on the author's life and work, as well as the historical and literary context. The second part is focused on the depiction of space in literature, with an emphasis on urban space and subsequently on the space in the author's specific short stories. The motif of death in the Aztec poetry of the representatives of the Aztec Alliance

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the motive of death from different perspectives in Aztec poetry. My primary literary source is the collection of poems Poesía Náhuatl II - Cantares mexicanos by Angel María Garibay Kintana. Since Aztec poetry is written in Nahuatl, I will use solely Spanish translations. I will focus on the work of Aztec rulers and poets in one person from the Aztec "Triple Alianza" in the Mexican territory of Tenochtitlán, Texcoco and Tlacopán. Criticism of social conventions in the work of Cristina Peri Rossi

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the critique of social conventions in the work Desastres íntimos, which is written by Uruguayan writer Cristina Peri Rossi. In the opening chapter we get acquainted with the author of the work, the following chapters are devoted to the literary analysis of critical motifs. Firstly, we concentrate on the patriarchal form of society, then on heterosexism, gender identity and the final part deals with the erotic suppression of desires.
Naturalism in the writings of Baldomero Lillo and Eugenio Cambaceres

The aim of my Bachelor's thesis is to describe naturalistic features in the works of Hispanic American writers Baldomero Lillo, Sub terra, and Eugenio Cambaceres, Sin rumbo and En la sangre. In the first part I define naturalism, its development, the main ideas of Émile Zola and form of naturalism in the literature of Hispanic America, in which in the second half of the nineteenth century various literary movements and tendencies were intermingled. The second part is devoted to the lives of the authors and the historical-social and economic conditions in Chile and Argentina, countries from which the authors come, and which are reflected in the described novels. In the second part I also summarize the most important findings about the literary style and production of the authors and I also deal with the analysis of the novels themselves. In my analyses I focus on the description of characteristic naturalistic traits, especially determinism, genetic and social, and decadence.
The rubber boom in the novels The Vortex by José Eustasio Rivera and The Dream of the Celt by Mario Vargas Llosa

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the theme of the rubber boom in the novels The Vortex by José Eustasio River and The Dream of the Celt by Mario Vargas Llosa. To give the reader an insight into the issue, I will briefly describe historical context. Subsequently, I will focus on the novels. After a short introduction of the author and the novel itself, I will analyse many different aspects of the text, such as novelistic characters and possible sources of inspiration, motif of exploitation of man and nature or examples of how authors achieved greater authenticity. Finally, I will compare those findings and I will draw conclusion regarding how the novels differ and how they are similar.
Biblical themes in the work of G. García Márquez with an emphasis on the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude

This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the study of Biblical and Christian influence on the works of Gabriel García Márquez. With regards to the selected topic, it is greatly beneficial to provide both the historical and literary context. Therefore, the first part of this thesis is focused on the Christian climate in Colombia and the use of Biblical themes in literature during the author's life. An important component of this section is the short biography of García Márquez with concentration on his commitment to Christianity and the Bible. This thesis examines Biblical symbolism in the overall work of the author, not only in the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, so this section also focuses on the presence of Biblical themes in other selected writings of the author. The second section of this thesis is dedicated to a detailed analysis of the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude and the Biblical themes in it. This portion emphasizes the direct and indirect parallels between the Bible and this novel. Gabriel García Márquez is known mainly for magical realism. The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to provide an alternative view on his authorship and point out the importance of Biblical themes in his works.

Title of the Bachelor's Thesis: Love relationships in the works "La nada cotidiana" and "Te di la vida entera" at the background of Cuban scence Abstract: The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of relational issues of main and secondary characters in the novels "La nada cotidiana" and "Te di la vida entera" associated with the influence of the Cuban environment on their actions. At the same time, it discusses the influence of feminine thinking on the perception of women's sexuality and its development within the framework of world tendencies that influenced the author's opinion and approach to them. It also attempts to capture the way how the characters perceive themselves through formed relationships and how they reflect on the time in which the stories are set. The thesis focuses on the analysis of literary texts and their subsequent comparison with each other, the determination of mutual parallels and differences, influences on works and the unification of the author's style embedded in her literary work. The impact of nature on human mind and further character development in the novel of Ciro Alegría La Serpiente de Oro

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the influence of the environment on the personality of the characters in the work La Serpiente de Oro. In this work we are going to discuss various themes and motifs characteristic for the inhabitants of Calemare. With a gradual analysis of these motifs we will be able to create a picture of the life of the people in Calemare, which is in a large part influenced by the river Marañón and the jungle. An important part of this work is the acquaintance with the author of the work, Ciro Alegría, whose work is highly influenced by the political-social situation in Peru. The author captures the simple, but harmonious life of the people living in close proximity of the jungle, who conform to the majestic nature. In the key part of this thesis we are going to analyze the behaviour of the characters who come from a different environment and their consecutive change of perception. Furthermore, the work focuses on the comparison of the indian, mestizo and creole characters who appear in the work. The novel can also be compared to other novels of the jungle and regionalist novels, which is addressed in the final chapters.

This bachelor's thesis presents an Argentine artist Griselda Gambaro during various moments in her career. There are briefly introduced some historical events which were an impulse for the author's work. Military dictatorships and coups, economic crises, poverty and political persecution were part of her life. Also, there is compared the evolution of dramatic production in Europe and in Latin America of that time. The elements of these various theatrical philosophies are put in context with the personal literary production of the playwright. The main part of the work is a summary of the Griselda Gambaro's creation. It focuses on drama. The final analysis of the three plays Los Siameses, Decir sí and La malasangre indicates the connection between the works and Argentine politics. It emphasizes the main moral values that should be appreciated by an ordinary person in his life.

The aim of this Master's Degree Thesis is to introduce concepts of emptiness and silence in collection of poetry The black heralds (Los heraldos negros) by peruvian author César Vallejo. The first part of the thesis captures life events that influenced author's personality and his poetic style. Both of them are well reflected in verses from the first collection. The following section deals with specific analysis of poems and it's main focus is to detect concept of emptiness and silence in them.
