Garden city
Procházková, Klára ; Pavlun, Martin (referee) ; Toman, Radek (advisor)
Housing cannot be simplified to its sole function of living. It must be extended to the relationship to its place and environment. What is the relationship of a person (inhabitant) to the space of his living? How to live? How to live differently? What is housing today and what can be predicted of its development? How can we, the architects, seek a solution to this seemingly banal housing problem in the current context? In the new territory of the South Center of Brno, in connection with the new railway station, large areas have been freed up, which make it possible to organize the urban structure of the new stop. The garden city is one of its designed parts. The new housing environment is offered in the expansion of the city center in the scale of the city district. Living in a garden city is not only a link to natural elements but also an opportunity to restore direct relations to the place of work and to the place of living and other forms of urban living. The work is based on an urban study prepared by the association Ivan Koleček - Pavel Jura architects Lausanne - Brno.

The work will be based on an urban study prepared by the association Ivan Koleček - Pavel Jura architects Lausanne - Brno.     Aim of the work: The aim of the work is the design of apartment houses in a new city district, the basic element of which is a checkerboard mosaic of various city parks and semi-public green areas, which defines the primary character of the area. According to an urban study, the development of a garden city is based on the traditional form of city blocks, which permeate the structure of urban greenery. At the same time, the smaller area of elements ensures a certain diversity of individual parts, which have a habitable - human - scale. The urban study comes with a simple regulation consisting of requirement for at least one side of the block open to the park, thus allowing considerable variability of development.     Map:       Scope - I. portfolio introductory data - theoretical background - place and context - architectural report - basic analysis and data characterizing the place, justification of design goals, description of situational relationships, description of existing conditions, limits of use, architectural and technical concept of proposed architecture, design idea, economic evaluation of the proposal.   drawing documentation - urban concept of a wider area, analysis, transport and landscape solutions in the scale 1: 1000/1: 2000 - situation and floor plans of all floors documenting the operational layout with the designation of individual spaces and rooms, sections describing the nature of the proposed building, including structures terrain level in scale 1: 50/1: 100/1: 200 - spatial drawings, perspectives, visualization

Pokrivčák, Marek ; Foltýn, Kryštof (referee) ; Toman, Radek (advisor)
The project of a housing complex on Červený kopec shows the possible ways of modern living. Preference of ecological forms of transport, life in a community near the nature or transport accessibility are some of the main elements of this project. The main division of surfaces dominates the urbanistic aspect of the project. There is the urban and green surface, whose proportion changes based on the character of the place. Somewhere the greenery is dominant, elsewhere it is the urban surface. Then there are surfaces of the community garden and a public park, which clearly defines the relationship between the private and the public spaces.

The proposal of my bachelor project is the design of a new building of the City Gallery in Litomyšl. The matter concept of the building is based on urban contexts and analyzes of the structure of Litomyšl, from which I chose and suitable place for the purpose. It is land near the People's House. In this place historical center, housing, shops and recreations are united. It is the crossroad of the main functions of the city. I was trying to get a gallery closer to the ordinary people and pulling it out of the usual stereotypes of a formal building and a monument in the very heart of the city. Instead, I placed the gallery on the edge of residential housing, which mainly inhabitants are passing by.

Aim od my thesis is to propose a Gallery space in the city of Litomyšl. What is a gallery space? What is it supposed to look like? What is it supposed to feel like? The proposal is a reaction to the life in the city. Concept of refletion is visible all around the city. The gallery itself reflects the surrounding buildings and this idea is also visible in the communication of the two buildings I propose.

Housing should not focus solely on habitation function. It must also includes relations to surroundings and environment we live in. The place, which surrounds us has a crucial impact on our feelings and perceptions. It is scientifically proven that plants positively affect our senses. The presence of vegetation is perceived as one of the main indicators of housing quality, which has a major influence on our choice of dwelling. My bachelor's thesis is based on urban studies, which has been developed by assocation Ivan Koleček - Pavel Jura architects Luasanne - Brno. The large free spaces are creating possibility for a new urban structure, of which one designed part is the garden city. Here is fulfilled idea of connection between natural elements and historical urban core.
