Development of phonemic awareness in preschool children utiziling the Elkonin method

The topic of the diploma thesis is Training the development of phonemic awareness in preschool children using the Elkonin method. The method serves as a tool for preventing difficulties in the development of reading and writing in primary school. The diploma thesis is focused mainly on the development of phonemic awareness and further on the development of language skills in selected children in a regular kindergarten. The thesis is divided into two parts. To the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part defines the basic terms related to the topic - communication, language and speech, hearing. It introduces the reader to the development of a child's speech from the period of intrauterine development to the age of about six years. Due to the focus of the diploma thesis, the greatest emphasis is placed on the speech development of a preschool child. The content of the chapter devoted to speech development is also the definition of language levels of speech. The theoretical part in one of the chapters defines the concepts of phonetics, phonology and phonological abilities. This is followed by a section devoted to the development of phonological awareness and its level at the beginning of reading mastery. Cooperation of nursery school with nursing home

In my final thesis I will be focused on the cooperation of nursery school with nursing home. The aim is to deepen the respect of preschool children to life and old age and also to improve the quality of children and seniors. The theoretical part will be taken from hierarchy of human needs by Maslow, from term of childhood and old age, will be focused on the characteristic of personality preschool children of these days and characteristic changes caused by age. In the theoretical part, the preschool aims of the teaching will be elaborated in accordance with the RVP PV, which will be filled by the cooperation of nursery school and nursing home. This part will be supported by the professional literature of this topic. In the practical part will be created a specific project of cooperation between the nursery school and the nursing home. This will include the characteristic of nursing home and a characteristic of specific group of preschool children, who will be part of this project. I'll be focused to specify conditions of cooperation and specific targets for education, for main content of children education and also the results. The project will be realized by meeting of specific class of nursery school with seniors and the results will be taken continuously with special care for benefits for both groups. To prepare this final thesis will be used professional literature, RVPPV, all of the knowledge found by study of the Faculty of education and by experience of my own practical training.
