Simulation of ultrasound sequences in contrast mode
Staňková, Jana ; Hesko, Branislav (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the principle of contrast imaging techniques for ultra-sound imaging. In the first part there are described basic principles and characteristics of ul-trasound waves for the understanding. It is also focused on ultrasound contrast agents used in contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging. The important part is the description of perfusion mo-dels with a focus obtain perfusion parametres and analyze perfusion curves obtained by mea-suring the ultrasound contrast agent over time. The second part is devoted to designing a pro-gram for generating simulated ultrasound images and description of the simulation of 2D ul-trasound tomograms.

Independent and impartial tribunal with emphasis on judgements of the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rigrts
Staňková, Jana ; Tymofeyeva, Alla (advisor) ; Lipovský, Milan (referee)
The right to an independent and impartial tribunal is one of core elements of a fair trial. Therefore, it is vital to lay emphasis on this requirement. Independent and impartial tribunals are the cornerstone of a democratic and modern society respecting the rule of law. Effective fulfilment of this requirement promotes faith in courts, the judicial system and justice itself. Independent and impartial tribunals are a necessary prerequisite to protection of other rights. Although the right to an independent and impartial tribunal is enshrined in many international treaties, this requirement is not always met in practice. This problem is emphasised, inter alia, by the Council of Europe which adopted the Plan of Action on Strengthening Judicial Independence and Impartiality in 2016, due to unsatisfactory fulfilment of this requirement among European countries. The main subject of this thesis is an analysis of judgements of the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights concerning the right to an independent and impartial tribunal in a wider international context. Case law of the European Court of Human Rights significantly influences not only the general European view on human rights but it has also a substantial impact on the Czech legal environment. This thesis is divided into three...
The role of olfactory perception in newborns
Staňková, Jana ; Třebická Fialová, Jitka (advisor) ; Stopková, Romana (referee)
One of the most important relationships in our lives is the bond between mother and child. A considerable amount of studies have shown that olfaction plays an important role in establishing this bond. As previous research already demonstrated, mothers who spend more time with their children and form a closer relationship with them are better at recognizing their child's body odor. Similarly, newborns are relatively successful at recognizing the smell of their mother, the smell of their mother's breast and the scent of their own amniotic fluid. These scents, compared to others, are not only more preferred by newborns but also appear soothing for them. Moreover, the smell of mother's breast plays a crucial role in starting of breastfeeding. The environment in utero is rather deprived of auditory and visual stimuli and thus olfactory cues play an important role in this ontogeny phase. It has been shown that prenatal exposure to odorants through amniotic fluid affects subsequent reactions of children. The effect is conveyed through food that the mother ingests; these odors are then received more positively than the odors that children were not previously exposed to. This early acquaintance with smells and flavors typical for a specific culture might, to some extent, shape the later eating habits of...

Trade-off in antipredatory strategies of reptiles
Staňková, Jana ; Frynta, Daniel (advisor) ; Kodym, Petr (referee)
Antipredatory strategies determine to some extent a succes of a prey to survive a predator's attack. Many species developed dozens of antipredatory strategies during an evolution. A certain animal must select one of the strategies to use under certain conditions. This selection depends on many factors and also on the prey's willingness to risk in trade-off with the predatory risk. There is a plenty of strategy types and theories that deal with those. These theories also investigate a trade-off concept which the prey must take into account during the attack. Foods abundance, temperature, daytime, prey's age and condition, fitness and many others interfere the decision of which antipredatory strategy is the most convenient at the time. My thesis deals with the use of a trade-off concept in reptilia's antipredatory strategies. Because this order is very varied and many information is available, I focused on the Sauria class.
