Plural Variants Incidence of the Fourth Verbal Class of the Pattern "sází" in the Contemporary Czech Fiction

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to explore the use of Czech verb pattern "sázejí" and "sází" doublets in contemporary Czech fiction. The theoretical part provides a description of the historical development of the "sázet" pattern, describes the codification history of morphological variation, and describes the characteristics of the Czech fiction language sphere. The empirical part presents a sample of twelve Czech books and their editorial intervention habits. For each of these books, the characteristic language and sociolinguistic factors of the generation and the authors' regional origin are described. The hypotheses are set and presented based on the already existing research performed by Pavel Sojka, especially the research focusing on the prose of Bohumil Hrabal. Following the presentation of the individual results, the conclusion is presented and compared with the preceding research. This thesis confirms the competing tendencies of both variants as described by Sojka and further expands the mapped inter-paradigmatic balancing area by describing certain differences in the collected data. The provided conclusion describes factors influencing the distribution of doublets in fiction and summarises the stylistic trends in the Czech fiction sphere. Manifestation of Deflectivization in Contemporary Czech - The Tendency Not to Inflect Some First Names in Connection With Surnames

This thesis deals with the issue of deflectivization in contemporary Czech, specifically the tendency not to inflect some first names in connection with surnames. The theoretical part focuses on the dynamics of the development of contemporary Czech, explains the concepts of norm and codification, describes variant forms in the language and clarifies the causes of language changes. He then defines a relatively new tendency - deflectivization and gives some specific examples of it. In connection with the non-declension of some names, it clarifies how such names should be inflected. The aim of the practical part is to compare the results of the questionnaire survey, which aims to find out to what extent deflectivization tendencies manifest themselves in the Czech population, with the results reported in the CNK and to evaluate whether or not there is a tendency to inflect these names prevailing. The Influence of Prague Dialect on Speech of Students From Zlín Area

This bachelor 's thesis focuses on the influence which can Prague Common Czech language have on students from the Zlin area who are staying in Prague for longer period. The first part of the work deals with the theory, especially with the theme of language varieties and the differences between them. The second part of the work is the empiric part, which consists of interviews with young students from the Zlin area. The interviews are led in such a way that the respondents do not know what exactly the subject matter is. The second part of the interview aims at the speakers' language reflection. All the interviews are recorded and transcribed. All the information crucial for this work is included in the transcriptions. The results of the empiric part partly confirm some theses which were established at the outset of the work. For example, that social interaction plays a significant role in the question of adaptation to the Common Czech. Results cannot be viewed as unequivocal, the conditions under which the interviews were made should be taken into consideration. What is more, the specific nature of each speaker should be considered too. Communication of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic on Instagram

The aim of the diploma thesis entitled Communication of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic on Instagram was to carry out a detailed linguistic analysis of the texts from the Instagram account of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and to evaluate features that are typical for this discourse. Futhrmore, the aim was to evaluate the texts from the point of view of inclusion among functional styles (communication spheres) and from the point of view of informal manifestations of communication by public administration institutions. In the theoretical part, the diploma thesis deals with the characteristics of institutional communication, administrative functional style and features of electronic communication. The corpus of texts consists of ninety-three texts from the Instagram account of the Office of Government of the Czech Republic, with the oldest text used being from 27/09/2018, and the most recent form 18/05/2022. When analyzing the texts, we focused on their morphological and lexical level, the amount and form of the pictorial code, the presence or absence of an expressed personal opinion, the function of the texts and the character of intertextuality. This thesis examines two types of forms of imperfect verbs which are used in the czech language to express the future. It is an analytical form and form with a formative prefix. The thesis first introduces the reader to the basic issues of the topic and then also to the current findings in this area. In the next part is examined the occurrence of the mentioned forms in the vocabulary of the czech language. The aim of this thesis is to fill the gaps in the previous mentions of the issue with the help of aformentioned research.
Contemporary Dictionary of the Young Generation Dialect in Hranice

Contemporary Dictionary of the Young Generation Dialect in Hranice ABSTRACT Czech is an extraordinarily rich language, our largest dictionary has approximately 250,000 words and this number also includes many more belonging to dialect groups. However, some dialect words are still not recorded in dictionaries and their use is restricted to a very narrow range of users. This bachelor's thesis focuses on dialects, specifically in the town of Hranice in the Olomouc Region. Nowadays dialects are being transformed due to several factors. This paper aims to determine whether the meanings of specific dialect words are still familiar to the young generation in the Hranice dialect section and whether these are used in their everyday speech. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to the dialect, the characteristics of the dialect of the area and a brief description of the history of Hranice and its surroundings. The practical part is based on data collected using a questionnaire. First, linguistic material was collected from respondents of different generations, aged from 24 to 65, who were born in Hranice and commonly use the local dialect.
