DNS library for a high-performance DNS server
Slovák, Ľuboš ; Peterka, Jiří (advisor) ; Yaghob, Jakub (referee)
In this thesis I design and implement a high-performance library for developing authoritative name server software. The library supports all basic as well as several advanced features of the DNS protocol, such as EDNS0, DNSSEC or zone transfers. It is designed to be modular, extensible and easy to use. The library was integrated into an experimental server implementation used for testing and benchmarking. Its performance is evaluated and proved to be superior to prevalent implementations in most cases. The thesis also provides theoretic background and a deep analysis of the task together with detailed description of the implemented solutions.
Autoritativní DNS server s podporou DNSSEC
Slovák, Ľuboš ; Kolovratník, David (advisor) ; Peterka, Jiří (referee)
In this thesis we design and implement an authoritative DNS server with support for DNSSEC extensions. The server is crossplatform, extensible, and with modular, objectoriented design. However, it does not support some features, such as zone transfers, dynamic updates or responding through TCP due to the constrained range of this work. We also propose a new XMLbased zone file format to be used within the application. An XML Schema grammar for the format is provided. The thesis also contains a brief introduction to the DNS protocol and its main extensions, as well as a omparison of several existing name servers.
Rehabilitation of the sensuous world from the environmental perspective of David Abram.
Slovák, Ľuboš ; Daněk, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jaroš, Filip (referee)
This thesis is an attempt to reflect on the theme of phenomena and sensuous world in the context of environmentalism. It deals with the condemnation of phenomena in the modern era science and especially in the contemporary neo-Darwinian biology, and with various attempts at rehabilitation of sensory perception as a relevant way of relating to the world in biology (Adolf Portmann, Hans Driesch) and philosophy (phenomenology, particularly Maurice Merleau-Ponty). The main subject of the thesis is the eco- phenomenology of David Abram and a comparison of his approach with the one held by contemporary biology. Based on this comparison it is argued in what manner may the thoughts of David Abram, and the effort to rehabilitate phenomena in general, be of benefit to the environmental discourse, particularly in terms of forming an original epistemology and ontology and concerning the ethical motivations. KEYWORDS: Abram, phenomenon, environmentalism, neo-Darwinism, phenomenology, eco-phenomenology

Resistance strategies in individualizated, commodified and consum society: Food not Bombs Prague
Stašová, Adéla ; Novák, Arnošt (advisor) ; Slovák, Ľuboš (referee)
The thesis offers an analysis of the Prague Food Not Bombs collective using the optics of the newest social movements as defined by Richard Day. Based both on theory and qualitative research, it enquires whether and how the group resists individualization, commodification, and excessive consumption in society. Using her experience of several years of field work, semi-structured and informal interviews, and her field notes, the author describes the collective in question, maps out its mechanisms and internal organization, illustrates the attitudes and tactics of the activists, and exposes the troubles and hurdles they face. She surveys the activists' attitudes to such concepts of the newest social movements as direct grassroot action, solidarity, decentralization, anti-authoritarianism, consensus, and pre-figurative politics, to see if the activists employ them in their resistance strategy. In more general terms, the author attempts at a (so far missing) insight into the Prague collective as a social resistance group and a chapter of the worldwide Food Not Bombs movement. Key words Food Not Bombs, newest social movements, individualisation, commodification, consumption, protest
