Prose adaptations of J. K. Tyl's dramas by V. Kovářík
Sedláčková, Barbora ; Martínek, František (advisor) ; Andrlová Fidlerová, Alena (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with prose adaptations of Josef Kajetán Tyl's dramas Jiříkovo vidění a jiné příběhy (publisher Albatros, 1973 and 1978) by Vladimír Kovářík which are intended for children. It compares the short-story adaptation of the play Strakonický dudák and the original play edited by A. Jedlička (In: Dramatické báchorky, publisher SNKLHU, 1953). The thesis analyzes certain types of changes between the text of drama and prose that the adapter made in order to adapt the storyline to the form of a short story: more detailed descriptions, less dialogization, reduction of the number of utterances and slight changes in the order of the different parts of the story. The thesis also focuses on the linguistic changes that were made in order to update the text and make it more accessible for a new reader model - children, i.e. changes in vocabulary (simplification of formulations), word order and morphological changes. 1
Upper limb assessment in multiple sclerosis
Heřmánková, Barbora ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Sedláčková, Barbora (referee)
My thesis is focused on the possibilities of examination of upper limb function in patients with multiple sclerosis. It also details the interpretation of outcome measures. The work was part of an international study called Psychometric properties of Outcome Measures of upper limb function in multiple sclerosis which was aimed at creating a systematic review of outcome measures that provide reliable data. Given the high prevalence of functional upper limb dysfunction in patients with multiple sclerosis, their examination quality is a prerequisite for successful rehabilitation. The theoretical part of my work is occupied with the detailed description of each test which were evaluated through study to be relevant. From this perspective it tis really important that outcome measures are reliable, valid and responsive. These properties, called psychometric properties, were mentioned in my thesis.

SEDLÁČKOVÁ, Barbora
The chapter titled Present state focuses on the problem of gerontology and geriatrics. Other chapters include description of the most outstanding neuropsychical and somatic changes in the old-age. Next chapters deal with functional examine and geriatric rehabilitation problem. The objective of the thesis was assessing the extent of self-reliance and psychical changes affecting all the occupants of using Crichton Geriatric Rating Scale.146 seniors were tested according to the Crichton Geriatric Rating Scale.Three hypotheses were stated. It was expected that the results of the Crichton tests would correlate with the results of MiniMental Test. Another hypothesis was that there would be better results of the test done to the people whose family care for them actively. The last hypothesis expected worse results of the people who have been in the retirement home for more than three years. The research has confirmed that the results of the Chrichton test and MiniMental test correlate. Correlation of the Crichton test with the active care and interest of the family for the senior and the length of their stay was not proved.
The effect of sericines on quality of silk fibre
SEDLÁČKOVÁ, Barbora
The silk produced by caterpillars is a composite polymer of several proteins. H-fibroin,L-fibroin and P25 glycoprotein form the silk filament, the inner sericines join the fillaments and the surface sericines glue the fibers together when a cocoon is spun. Composition of silk filaments seems to remain identical during the development, as indicated by sustained expression of the L-fibroin, P25 and H-fibroin genes. However, the change in fiber function occurs concurrently with a transition of the expression profile of the sericine genes. The study demonstrates that silk fiber properities are changed throughout larval life of Galleria mellonella.
