In this work we present the method of semi-automatic training of the probabilistic translation dictionary using large automatically annotated parallel corpora. According to the study of translation errors and the role of translation dictionary within the TectoMt translatio system in general we propose models of various complexity. These basic models were combined to hierarchical models that were designed to reduce impact of the sparse data problem. Various extensions were implemented to deal with common lexical errors. The dictionary along with extensions was compared to the former approach on test data and the results show improved translation quality.

Illustrations of the work Máj by Karel Hynek Mácha - endless sources of inspiration

Marta Slačálková Illustrations of the works Máj by Karel Hynek Mácha - endless sources of inspiration Bachelor thesis This bachelor thesis discusses book illustrations of Karel Hynek Mácha's poem "Máj", selected art work directly linked to the poem, and fictitious portraits of the poet. The study focuses on works created since first publication of the poem to present day. Particular artists whose works were inspired by the poem are discussed in chronological manner, their lifestyle and painting techniques are also described. The thesis mainly focuses on artists who approached Mácha's poem in an original manner in their work. It describes individual sets of illustrations, correlation between them, and their ability to artistically interpret the poem. Personality of Josef Kaplicky at Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design and his Heritage.

Resumé Profesor Josef Kaplický vedl v letech 1945-1962 ateliér monumentální malby a později ateliér sklářských technik na Vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze. Jako všestranný umělec a teoretik dokázal vychovat celou řadu velmi kvalitních umělců, kteří byli určujícími osobnosti českého umění po druhé světové válce. Mezi nimi byli například Václav Cigler, Zdena Strobachová, Jiřina Žertová, Marie Rychlíková, Děvana Mírová, Jiří John, Adriena Šimotová a Vladimír Kopecký a další, jež svým přístupem a hlavně příkladem připravil pro mnohé budoucí úkoly výtvarného umění. Významnou úlohu Kaplický hrál v poválečném obnovení slávy českého skla (jemuž se věnoval se svými studenty), převážně svou schopností reflektovat soudobé umělecké a kulturní dění a teoreticky zpracovávat umělecké otázky. Vytvořil tzv. "filozofii skla", jenž práci v této technice pomohla pozvednout na velmi vysokou úroveň a odrazila se tak v úspěších českých sklářských návrhářů v šedesátých a sedmdesátých letech a ve vývoji autorského studiového skla. Bakalářská práce se věnuje nejen ateliéru Josefa Kaplického, ale také jeho samostatné umělecké a teoretické činnosti, která s ním úzce souvisela, a v neposlední řadě i dobovým tvůrčím podmínkám. Significance and role of the contemporary Czech scientific zoological illustration in educational literature

(in English): The diploma thesis focuses on the Czech contemporary scientific zoological illustration since 20th century till today. In the beginning it describes history and development of the scientific zoological illustration in Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis describes in detail the scientific zoological illustration in period since the 20th century till today. It reveals it's form, influences, techniques used and the work of it's main representatives. Thesis introduces realistic zoological illustration as used in professional and educational literature. It will try to uncover influence of computer-created imagery to conventional artistic techniques in the scientific zoological illustration. It will bring attention to the role of the scientific realistic illustration as well as its possibility to go beyond the educational purpose to boost reader's affinity for nature. It weighs the overall importance of the contemporary scientific zoological illustration.

Zdeněk Kirchner's Art Works at Museum of Art and Design Benešov

The bachelor thesis deals with the inheritance of Zdenek Kirchner, which is now located in the Museum of Art and Design in Benesov and which includes hundreds of paintings, graphical sheets, objects and as well works from functional graphics. Based on the chosen pieces of art, the bachelor thesis tries to introduce the Kirchner's work which is mainly characterized by the illegible letters and which is set into the 1960's- 1980's era of art. The pieces of art are in a chronological order and categorized into two branches in respect to Kirchner's emigration to France in 1969. As Zdenek Kirchner was, for the majority of his life, influenced by the lettrism movement the thesis deals with the use of writing as an art form during the twentieth century mainly in Czechoslovakia and France.
