FAMILY HOUSE IN HVĚVOTÍN

This Bachelor Thesis is a project of a family house in Hněvotín. It is a detached house built in the “L shape” with one underground and two aboveground floors. The building is designed for a family of four. In the basement of the building there is a playroom, a gym, a bathroom and a utility room. On the ground floor there is a vestibule with an entry to the garage and the hall. From the hall we can enter the toilet or the living room which is connected to the kitchen and the dining room. There is a half landing staircase leading from the living room to the first floor or the basement. On the first floor there is another hall, which leads to the storage room, two nurseries, bathroom and a bedroom with an on suite bathroom. The whole first floor is designed as a loft. The roofing is made of clay roofing tiles Tondach. Vertical peripheral masonry in the basement consists of concrete formwork blocks Dito ZB 400x300x250 mm. The basement internal bearing wall and the bearing wall above ground both consist of ceramic bricks Porotherm 30 P+D 247x300x238 mm. The horizontal structural frame consists of ceiling beams Pot and inserts Miako from the Porotherm system. The only exception is the ceiling system in the garage where it is stylized into a monolithic reinforced concrete panel.
Multifunctional building

The thesis is a project of a multifunctional building in Olomouc. That is the detached house with a rectangular ground plan, one underground floor and four above-ground floors. In the basement there are public parking garages, an technical room and an engine room of the ventilation. On the first floor there is a cafe and a copy center and the separate entrance for owners of the residential units. There are nine separate residential units on the second to the fourth floor. The house is based on the monolithic footings. The vertical supporting structure are formed by the basement walls in a combination with the monolithic reinforced concrete columns. Horizontal supporting structure is designed from the ceiling panels SPIROLL. The building is covered with flat single-roof construction with a drainage inward disposition.
The Evolution of American Contrainsurgency in the Vietnam and Iraq Wars

The United States was throughout the history engaged in several conflicts which had a character of counterinsurgency. These are - among others- War in Vietnam and second War in Iraq. These two conflicts are examined in this diploma thesis. Author poses a question how did counterinsurgency tactics evolved in both conflicts. The second question is whether the United States implemented counterinsurgency experiences from Vietnam War in Iraq War and if so, how they were implemented. The United States developed several counterinsurgency programs and the most of them were successful - they prevented Vietcong from spreading its influence in South Vietnam. However these programs were often poorly financed, or they did not gain enough support from The US Army, because the Army prefered conventional approach in fighting against communists. The United States fought a conventional warfare in the first few years of Iraq War and it had not succeeded in garnering popularity among civilians. The change came with a new commander- general David Petraeus. Petraeus was inspired by the experiences from the Vietnam War (and other conflicts) and he concentrated his effort on providing safety to Iraqi population. This strategy paid off and the Army had much less losses during his command then during the pre - 2007 period....
Ronald Reagan and his Contribution to the Collapse of the Soviet Union - U.S. Support to Anti-Soviet Forces in Angola and Afghanistan in the 1980s

Thesis 'Ronald Reagan and his Contribution to the Collapse of the Soviet Union - U.S. Support to Anti-Soviet Forces in Angola and Afghanistan in the 1980s' describes the role played by the Reagan administration in the process of aiding the Afghan mujahideen and the Angolan movement UNITA. It focuses on the American financial and material support to the both groups. It also mentions political actors, who shared responsibility for aiding mujahideen and UNITA. These include the Director of the CIA William Casey, congressman Charles Wilson, the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Chester Crocker and others. Conflicts in Afghanistan and Angola are put into historical context, in which causes of these wars are explained. USA and USSR involvement in Afghanistan and Angola prior to the Reagan's presidency is also described. Another important participants of the both conflicts are mentioned too. In the case of Afghanistan it is Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI. In the case of Angola it is the South African Republic and Cuba. The thesis describes Soviet engagement in Afghanistan prior to the war, course of the war, Gorbachev's view on the war and Soviet casualties and financial losses.
