Citizenship of the European Union: rights of EU citizens and its impact on the legal order of the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis explores content, purpose and impact of citizenship of the European Union. The European Union is an international organization that affects day-to-day lives of citizens of its Member States. From the beginning of its existence, the European Union (formerly the European Community) has always taken into consideration the interests of its Member States. As it has accrued more power while widening and broadening its competencies, it has made it possible for the European Union to tackle new problems. Eventually, in order to reduce democratic deficit participation of individual citizens became inevitable for the purpose of creation of a genuine link between individuals and the European Union, which helps to ensure its proper governance. Although some rights linked with citizenship had been already incorporated into the law of the European Union, citizenship of the European Union was embedded into the primary law of the European Union by the Maastricht Treaty. Entering into force on 1 November 1993, this represented a milestone for the quality of the relationship between the European Union and citizens of its Member States. The relationship between central banks and commercial banks

This diploma thesis deals with the relationship of the central bank with commercial banks. A central bank perform important functions, and thus it has its own set of competencies needed to achieve its objectives. To those functions belong, above all, participation in creation of binding legal acts and supervision over banking institutions. The Czech National Bank is the central bank of the Czech Republic, and its activities and status are governed, especially, by Act. No. 6/1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, as amended. This diploma thesis is divided into three sections. The first section is devoted to the theoretical framework of central banking. The second section is focused on the Czech National Bank and its powers and functions. The last section deals with the development of banking regulation on the international level. The main goal of this diploma thesis is to identify individual interactions between the Czech National Bank and commercial banks.

Regulation of Derivatives Contracts

This diploma thesis deals with the legal regulation of derivatives contracts with respect to their economic nature. It provides a detailed view on the legislation regulating derivatives contracts in the legal order of the Czech Republic. Considering the interconnection of local derivatives markets, this diploma thesis pays attention to the legal regulation and standardization of derivatives contracts in foreign countries and at the international level. The first part of this thesis describes basic features of derivatives and proposes their typology. The aim of the following part is to evaluate the contemporary legal regulation of derivatives contracts in the Czech Republic. The rest of this thesis elaborates on foreign and international legal regulation of derivatives contracts. The main goal of this diploma thesis is to evaluate present the state of the regulation of derivatives contracts in the Czech Republic, asses to what degree it reflects their economic nature, and eventually, propose legal changes.

Contract of sale in czech law

The very purpose of this thesis is a legal analysis and comparison of codifications of contract of sale in particular acts. The first part of this thesis concerns czech private law (czech civil and business law), and it deals with both current and future statutes. The second part is dedicated to contract of sales either in international private law and written law of a few countries (Germany, Austria, Slovakia).
