Intensive hippotherapy in children diagnosed with infantile paralysis and its short-term and intermediate effect
Kopecká, Tereza ; Pivec, Martin (advisor) ; Kulichová, Jana (referee)
Hippotherapy belongs to the family of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation methods. It especially benefits the rehabilitation care of complex neurological patients. This paper theoretically examines the methodology of hippotherapy. Further, this paper examines an evaluative survey of 21 subjects after intensive hippotherapy who were initially diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The immediate, short and medium term effect of the therapy was exami-ned. For the evaluation the intercondylic index, Collis symptom and position reaction tests were used. The testing is complemented with a questionnaire filled in by parents with 11 pa-rameters, which included changes in the functions of knowledge and psyche of the child. The results show that there is a statistically significant improvement in all examined parameters after immediate and weekly therapy. Thus this method can be recommended as a possible approach to the therapy of children with cerebral palsy. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Plantar fasciitis, its pathogenesis and therapeutic modification by conservative methods
Manhartová, Lenka ; Valouchová, Petra (advisor) ; Pivec, Martin (referee)
The Bachelor's Thesis "Plantar fasciitis, pathogenesis and conservative treatment" deals with musculoskeletary problems, which is the sphere of attention of several medical disciplines. Very important is clinical examination, which is the result of anatomical, biomechanical and kineziological knowledge. The plantar fasciitis is part of revmatological diseases, especially those with extraarticulary origin. The origin of this disease are various, the most frequent is repetitive strain or excessive load on the fascia, acute or repetitive traumas or microtraumas. The Plantar fasciitis is a clinical diagnosis that is most commonly seen in younger runners and patiens of age between 40 and 60 years who are often slightly overweight and may be deconditioned and people whose occupation require prolonged standing or walking. Self examination consist of personal health anamnesis and physical examination which is important for differential diagnosis. If diagnostic conclusion is unclear, imaging methods can be helpful. The conservative treatment of plantar fasciitis includes rest, physical therapy and rehabilitation. Proper choice of orthotics and footwear, especially by athletes, is essential. Conservative treatment is often combined with pharmacotherapy. Surgery shoul be the last posibility for case resistant to the...

The relation between the locomotor system and gastroesophagial reflux
Bitnar, Petr ; Pivec, Martin (advisor) ; Kobesová, Alena (referee)
The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the issue of the gastrooesophageal disease relating to the locomotive system. Special emphasis is given to the relation between the gastrooesophageal disease and the diaphragma and its viscero-somatic projection (viscero-vertebral projection). This connection will be verified on the clinical observation of a group of patients with the 81 gastrooesophageal disease. We have tried to design a physiotherapy approach to this disease in this dissertation. We have reached the view, that the diaphragm has an essential function, for it is a part of the antireflux barrier and its pressure activity affect the right function of the gastrointestinal system. We have also found, that the disorder in the area of gastrointestinal junction project to the locomotive system and constitute here the reflexive changes, which form specific visceral pattern. This pattern show side asymetry with the total dominance on the left side. The strong dysfunction of the deep stabilisation muscle system of spine, especially of diaphragm is typical for the patients with gastrooesophageal reflux. The respiratory pattern was defective by the most of the examined patients. A very expressive finding was the abdominal diastasis, which was found by more than a half of our probands. It is possible to...
