Müller, Tomáš ; Stroukal, Dominik (advisor) ; Pichaničová, Ludmila (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the impact of change in state subsidy on number of building society contracts in the Czech Republic. Regression analysis of time lines from the period between the year 2000 and the half of the year 2012 was used for the research. Freely available data and the data from database of the Ministry of Finance were used for the analysis. Based on the analysis, positive impact of change in state subsidy on number of contracts was proved; one-percent rise in state subsidy caused a rise of number of building society contracts by 396,743. GDP and the fourth quarter of calendar year were other factors that have proved positive impact on number of contracts. On the contrary, prolongation of contract minimum duration, growth of guaranteed interest rate, and issuance of government bonds proved to have had negative impact on number of contracts.

Komrsová, Šárka ; Chytil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Pichaničová, Ludmila (referee)
The overal goal of this thesis is to analyze factors which determine the duration of unemployment in the current labor market in Czech Republic. The specific aim of the work is to analyze the relationship between reached level of education and the duration of unemployment in Czech Republic. According to the Chicago school theory of human capital is among people with higher education proved lower level of unemployment and more efficient search for free job possitions. Based on this theory, the work is aiming to test the hypothesis that the reached level of education actually affects the length of job rediscovery even in Czech Republic. I try to verify the hypothesis about the connection between the duration of unemployment and education level using data provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Specificaly, it is a quarterly data from the second quarter of 2009 to the forth quarter of 2011. In accordance with empirical studies it has been proved that better educated candidates experience shorter duration of an unemployment. The probability of having found a job possition within shorter period is rising with higher educational level. The basic hypothesis of the thesis has been confirmed. Secondly, it has also been found out, that the proportion of higher educated people registered on Labor Bureau decreases with longer period. On the reverse, the proportion of unemployed inhabitants with lower level of education is rising with longer period. As for the variable sex, men show shorter time needed to find a new job possition.

Also it analyses influence of the chosen factors. Based on regression analysis I evaluate data from panel model of the years 2010 -- 2013 and I show correlation of tobacco addiction and efficiency of municipal policeman. Then I prove correlation between increased traffic of inhabitants in the centre of the town (it is shown on the car taxes income and the season) and whole municipal police work. As the outcome of regression model is shown that smoking policeman has lesser efficiency -- he makes 24% less work than his non-smoking colleague. It means that non-smoking policeman makes 1,5 actions per shift more than smoking one.

This paper examines impact of the volume and structure of expenditure on quality of tertiary education expressed by the number of elite universities. With econometric analysis based on data of OECD countries and partner countries I was able to prove that the total volume of expenditure positively affects the quality of tertiary education. When evaluating structure of expenditures, different results emerged. While the private expenditures positively affect the quality of tertiary education, the impact of the public expenditures on the quality of tertiary education has not been detected. Possible causes of these results are discussed consequently.

The aim of bachelor thesis was to answer the question whether politicians make their decisions about the "Too Big to Fail" policy on advice of economists or for other reasons. The bachelor thesis clarified many opinions and recommendations of economists, which were expressed in empirical and theoretical studies. Economists clearly thought that the government should not pursue the "Too Big to Fail" policy and thus not provide the assistance to financial institutions at risk of bankruptcy. Considering the fact that politicians provide the financial assistance to large financial institutions in most cases, the hypothesis that politicians act in case of "Too Big to Fail" according to recommendations of economists was rejected. Furthermore the bachelor thesis mentioned reasons that may influence decisions of politicians and alternative solution of financial institutions insolvency.
