Competitive success in the performance development of tennis players

Title: Competitive success in the performance development of tennis players Abstract This study deals with the performance development analysis of players, in the conditions of the Czech Tennis Association enviroment (before 1993 of the Czechoslovak Tennis Association), and the aim is to find if the competitive success of Czech, or Czechoslovak players reached in the U12 and U14 age categories relates to their later top performance achievements at the international level. The prospective view analyses national rankings of best U12 and U14 players (during years 1989 - 2011) in relation to their future success at the professional level on the ATP and WTA Tour. The retrospective analysis focuses on players (born 1970 or younger) who reached a top 100 ATP or WTA ranking, and explores their performance development. The qualitative part of the research, based on structured open ended interviews with tennis experts, identifies, confirms and/or reviews the ways of achieving the top tennis performance. This part focuses on three topics of the long-term athletic development in tennis - characteristic features of training, demands on successful players and importance of sport competitions. This thesis analyzes current possibilities of displaying 3D graphics on the internet. Its main objective is to analyze and to define basic features of a modern WebGL standard for inter-active 2D and 3D graphics on web. In addition, popular helpful frameworks implementing this standard are described and many simple examples are created to demonstrate their applications. This thesis also informs about practical usages of WebGL in many industries.

Prospective analysis of ITF, ATP and WTA rankings of Czech tennis players selected for the Sport centres of youth

Title: Prospective analysis of ITF, ATP and WTA rankings of Czech tennis players selected for the Sport centres of youth Aim: The aim of the graduation theses is the analysis of selection of young talented tennis players of the Sport centres of youth in the period of 2001 - 2008. We will analyze their singles and doubles ITF, ATP and WTA rankings. We will also compare their rankings in the junior and adult period and analyze rankings of the Czech tennis players in the world's TOP25. Methods: The graduation theses is based on the prospective analysis and comparison of singles and doubles ITF, ATP and WTA rankings of tennis players of the Sport centres of youth, and the evaluation and interpretation of the acquired data. Outcomes: In the period of 2001 - 2008, 60 players were included in the Sport centres of youth. On the whole, 37 players were ranked in the top one hundred of the year end boys and girls combined rollover ranking and 17 in the top one hundred of the ATP or WTA ranking. Fourteen players altogether were ranked both in the top one hundred of the juniors ITF and ATP or WTA rankings in their career.
