Intergenerational issues in kinship foster care

The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of kinship foster care. Kinship foster care is a form of foster care, in which a child is being raised by its relative. This form has undoubtedly many benefits, but it also brings out many difficulties. My thesis focuses on potential problems in kinship foster care. It discusses intergenerational issues in kinship foster care, where the child is being raised by his grandparents. The objective of this thesis is to determine, what are the intergenerational problems and to emphasize the differences between foster care and kinship foster care. Teenage mothers in the Capital City of Prague

POSPÍŠILOVÁ KLIMENTOVÁ, Lucie. Teenage mothers in the capital city of Prague. Prague: Philosophical Faculty of Charles University, 2015 s. 80. Thesis. The thesis deals with pregnancy and subsequent motherhood underage girls from Prague. The aim is to describe and analyze the life situation in which underage girls got their early pregnancy and subsequent parenthood. The theoretical part contains a broader insight into the problems of underage preg- nancy. The thesis contains in addition to the definitions, the legal anchorage and discusses possible solutions to the situation. Empirical part is focused on specific life experiences of girls who became pregnant and gave birth during their minority. To determine the necessary information was used analysis of documents and interviewing methods, namely semi-structured interview tech- niques. Analysis of documents was subjected to 16 file documentation of teenage girls and their children. It was subsequently conducted 10 interviews with women who are underage pregnancy and maternity personally gone through. The conclusion summarizes theoretical knowledge and evaluates the results of the research. Keywords: non age pregnancy, maternity, Prague.
Position of low-threshold institution for children and youth in Child protection - options and limits

The thesis focuses on the role of Low-threshold institutions for children and youth (NZDM) in the system of social- legal Child protection, their significance, possibilities and cooperation with other subjects, namely with Department of Social and Legal Protection for Children (OSPOD). The theoretical part defines what the social and legal protection for children is responsible for, how the cooperation between individual subjects work and what notification and information obligations are the subjects bound to fulfil. Attention is also paid to the tasks of OSPOD, NZDM and the role of entrusted persons in the system. The practical part is focused on three main topics. 1) Do the NZDMs have an authorisation to perform social and legal protection of children (and advantages and disadvantages associated with it)? 2) What is the role of NZDM in the system of Child protection (With what clients they work? How can NZDMs help their clients? And do they cooperate with other subjects)? 3) How does the cooperation with OSPOD works?The qualitative (interviews) as well as quantitative (questionnaires) methods have been used during the research.
The Contact with the Biological Family from the Perspective of the People Who Grew Up in the State-mediated Long-term Foster Care

This bachelor thesis titled The Contact with the Biological Family from the Perspective of the People Who Grew Up in the State-mediated Long-term Foster Care aims to describe the topic of the contact between the children in the state-mediated long-term foster care and their biological families, and also to present a point of view of the people who grew up in the described foster care form via a qualitative research. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical and an empirical one. The theoretical part contains four chapters dealing with the children's psychological needs, family functionality, the Czech Republic's foster care tradition as well as the current conditions, and finally, the contact between the children growing up in the long-term foster care and their biological families. The empirical part contains an analysis of the interviews taken with 8 respondents who grew up in the state-mediated long- term foster care. Causes of Placing the Child in Kinship Foster Care in Prague 12

Bachelor thesis entitled "Causes of placing the child in kinship foster care in Prague 12" aims to map the causes of placement of children in kinship foster care in Prague 12. The work is composed of four chapters. The first chapter introduces substitute family care and all forms are described in detail. Followed by an explanation of why the substitute family care for the child benefit and is preferred to institutional care. The second chapter introduces the issue of foster care, focusing on foster care for a temporary period and especially on kinship foster care. There are analyzed specific benefits and also risks kinship foster care. The third chapter discusses the Law on the social-legal protection of children, specifically on its amendment of 2013, and about what impact the amendment had on kinship foster care. The fourth chapter is devoted to quantitative research, which deals mainly with causes of placement of children in foster care within the administration the social-legal child protection authority in Prague 12. Further research has focused on finding who from family is foster parent, how long are children in the care of relatives and how they work contacts between children and their biological parents. Prisoner's Family as an Object of Social Work

The diploma thesis deals with families who face sudden separation of a loved one due to imprisonment. From previous experience the work differs in focusing primarily focused on the family, not prisoners. Theoretical part is devoted to conceptual and legislative definition, the negative effects of imprisonment and the specific needs of the prisoners families as an object of help. Thesis marginally touches on recidivism in the chapter about the family as an entity assist in the reintegration of prisoners and also highlights the potential risks that may family for imprisoned in the process mean. It results from foreign experience, which is traditionally ahead. The empirical part of the qualitative research carried out within of self-help groups of prisoners families provides insight into the specific experiences of families. Its purpose is both to draw attention to this marginalized social group and its needs, as well as outline effective assistance, which would deal with this life situation the best. POTOCKÁ, Veronika. Anonymous child abandonment in the Czech Republic

In the theoretical part the student aims to map the situation of leaving children anonymously in the Czech Republic in comparison with selected countries in Europe, the history of this phenomenon, the current situation and possible insights into the future. Anonymous leaving of children is studied from several perspectives, in terms of legal, psychological, medical and mainly social point of view. In the empirical part the method of inquiry, namely the interview technique is used. For this purpose experts on the specific areas were interviewed - lawyers, psychologists, doctors and social workers. Comparison of social and legal situation of unaccompanied minors in the Czech Republic and Austria

The theme of the work is to compare social and legal situation of unaccompanied minors (UAMs) from third countries, who find themselves in the territory of the Czech Republic and Austria, and these countries have subsequently provided them care and protection. Work aims to describe the history of the system of care, possible types of residence of these children, conditions of their security and identifying of their age in the two above-mentioned countries. Emphasis is also on the system of care, involving social and legal protection, housing, custody area, education, health care, as well as the search for durable solutions in the area of residence, the family reunification and reintegration. Then, I will try by using analysis to compare what these various aspects of their social and legal situation differ in, what they are identical in or which country better respects the so-called "appropriate procedures of Separated Children in Europe Programme ". I would also like to point out some deficiencies in the system or vice versa examples of good practice in both countries.

Focused on the Procedures of the Institution of Socio-legal Protection of Family with a Drug Addictions Member

of the bachelor thesis is focused on the procedures of the institution of socio-legal protection of children (hereinafter OSPOD) when working with families where there is a parent dependent on addictive substances. The theoretical part of the work describes the basic concepts, which allow a basic orientation in the matter. The second chapter provides perspective on drug addiction in the family and the impact of drug-dependent parents on the child. The following chapter is dedicated to the rehabilitation of the family and the case conference. It shows the importance of redevelopment, its course and when it is possible to implement the bailout. The next chapter describes the important factors that affect the performance of the socio-legal protection of children. The chapter intro-duces basic procedures of OSPOD. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes the OSPOD workflow with the children themselves, parents, dependent on addictive substances. In addition, dedicated to the evaluation of the situation of the family and, not least, describes the involvement of expert. The practical part of bachelor thesis is based on processing of four case reports, which contain information of the file documentation from selected OSPOD on the territory of the capital city Prague.
