Cervicogenic headache

Title Cervicogenic headache Objectives The aim of this master thesis is to present a comprehensive overview of the topic of cervicogenic headache. It focuses on the prevalence of this disease in the general population and on the cervical spine segment where the dysfunction in patients with cervical headache occurs the most frequently. It also focuses on the link between suboccipital muscles, cervical dura mater spinalis and headache on the effectiveness of different therapies for this diagnosis. Method The thesis is conceived as a scientific literature research. In order to obtain sources professional database such as Pubmed, PEDro, Medline, HighWire, Science direct were used. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an analytical part. There have been 4 questions and 4 hypotheses set for the purposes of work the thesis. Results Based on the analysis of available studies, the thesis confirmed that the incidence of cervicogenic headache in the general population is not negligible. It has also been proved that the diagnosis is quite frequent in patients suffering from headache, which may represent up to 35 % of patients. Case Study of physioterapy treatment of a patient after L3/L4 disectomy Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a complex perspective on a problem of herniated disc, on the course of disectomy and to propose following physiotherapy treatment after disectomy L3/L4. Methods: The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part proposes the possibilities of the examination and the treatment of the herniated disc. The second part focuses on the individual case report about a patient after disectomy. Results: The problems of the herniated disc were theoretically clarified. In order to obtain sources professio- nal database such as Pubmed, PEDro, Medline, HighWire, Science direct were used. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an analytical part. There have been 3 research questions set for the purposes of the thesis. Results Based on the analysis of available studies, the thesis confirmed that the incidence of cervico- genic headache in the general population is not negligible. It has been proved that the diagno- sis is quite frequent in patients suffering from headache, which may represent up to 35 % of patients. The results of available studies indicate that the dysfunction of the cervical spine causes 15-20 % of cervicogenic headaches. In most of the cases, it is the influence of the C1- C2, which is in more than 60 % of the cases. On the other hand, the influence of the AO joint is not very frequent. Title: Management of Physical Education and Sport Field of Study - Students' Motivation and Studying Satisfaction. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to identify current students and graduates ' main motives for initiating the study of Management of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague. The work maps whether the students are satisfied with their choice of study and detect whether the expectations they had before studying were met. Another aim of the thesis is to develop recommendations for increasing students' satisfaction with the field of study and to propose recommendations which may lead to the improvement of the current situation on the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Methods: The thesis uses the method of questioning and group discussion method. The questioning method was applied on a sample of respondents comprising of all the current students of Management of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague and the graduates in this field. Group discussion method was applied to a selected sample of eight students from the researched field of study.
