Boarding of students living in the dormitory Hvězda
Přibyl, Marek ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Balážová, Eva (referee)
Dining together, feasting and other rituals associated with food form are significant part of the history of human society. However, nowadays we can see the decline of their importance. The aim of my thesis is to show how students perceive their dining at the dormitory and how much the dining is important for them. This thesis could be divided into three parts. The first one presents the social and cultural meaning of the joint dining in the human society and there are also presented research questions. The second part is explaining the research and the methods of data collection and analysis used in this work. The results of the research are then summarized in the last part. After moving to the dormitory the boarding of the students is very individual and they perceive it as something ordinary and therefore not so important. The change occurs in two possible ways. First, the individual change of personal values associated with meal (e.g. by confrontation with long-term impact of dining). Second, a meal shared with partner when food is again seen as important. During a visit home these changes in boarding habits can cause conflicts with parents. My thesis is also focused on borrowing and sharing equipment resulting in closer relationship between students.
