Simulation of sound source motion for multichannel speaker topology
Dvořák, Petr ; Kurc, David (referee) ; Orlovský, Kristián (advisor)
This paper describes the simulation of the motion of a sound source in space with several speakers. It deals mainly with the study and subsequent implementation of events necessary for simulating the motion of the virtual sound source. The theoretical part is therefore concerned with finding these phenomena and with their description. Mainly that means description of panning of the sound and of the Doppler effect. In the following practical part of the work, the previously described phenomena are applied into Matlab. In the created interface , it is then possible to select the parameters of the simulation, such as the trajectory of the motion of the virtual sound source, the number of the points of the trajectory, etc. Analyses of the generated signal are then made of the selected referential parameters of the simulation.
Application for Measurement of Musical Instruments Directional Characteristics
Ustohalová, Iveta ; Orlovský, Kristián (referee) ; Mach, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the directional charateristics of acoustics music instruments measurements. Compilalation of measuring apparatus including microphone array and the individual steps of measurement and post-processing of audio recordings in *.wav format using program created in MATLAB and ment for this purpose is described. The output are graphs showing the directional charakteristics of selected instruments - violin, clarinet, guitar and accordion in selected one-third octave bands. The measurement results are interpreted and if available, compared with results given in literature.
Research for enclosed spaces impulse response influence on the auditory perception
Kišac, Matej ; Kurc, David (referee) ; Orlovský, Kristián (advisor)
This thesis deals with the acoustics of enclosed spaces and psychoacoustics. The first part is based on theoretical information about main structure of room acoustics and we concentrate on impulse response of the room. Next part is directed to the description of connection between basic parameters and room impulse response and their properties. These properties may be evaluated by means of methods processed in the third portion. Then we briefly focus on the panning process. The following section offers the knowledge acquired in the simulations of selected parameters(spacious impression, clarity, intimacy). In conclusion, it contains a solution of algorithm to simplify the generation of impulse response and comparison of objective parameters of my algorithm and the image method.
Modelling of closed space acousticsby the beam method
Ryšavý, Marek ; Orlovský, Kristián (referee) ; Trzos, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes the modeling of room acoustics using the ray tracing method. The first chapter deals with a general description of the basic properties of acoustic environment (wave acoustics, statistical acoustics and geometric acoustics). Then are described methods of calculating geometrical acoustics (image-source method, ray-tracing method and beam-tracing method). In the second chapter of this work is described in detail ray tracing methods and algorithm for calculate room acoustic using this method.
Simulation of sound wave propagation in closed space, using tools of geometric acoustics
Husák, Ondřej ; Kurc, David (referee) ; Orlovský, Kristián (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on a simulation of sound wave spreading in closed space using tools of geometric acoustics. It mainly concerns on comparison and using of image source method, Ray-Tracing Method, and Beam-Tracing for counting of sound waves rebounds in close environment without obstacles. A big part of the thesis is measured by algorithms of image source method and Ray-Tracing Method. It´s realized in Matlab software. The results are compared on based of executed simulations.
Sound source panning in non-standard speaker topologies
Doležel, Roman ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Orlovský, Kristián (advisor)
This work is aimed to sound source panning in two-dimensional space. The first part describes sound sensation by human auditory organ and spatial hearing. Next aim of the work is to describe commonly used panning methods VBAP and Ambisonics and newly introduced method DBAP, which is the main subject of this work. All methods are explained based on theoretical information. The third part of the work deals with knowledge of the amplitude method DBAP obtained by simulation in Matlab for various speakers topologies. The last section is focused on listening tests for comparison of methods DBAP and VBAP.
Sound panning in multichannel sound systems
Orlovský, Kristián ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Balík, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis is aimed at simulation of auditory space. The first part is based on theoretical information and explains two of the most frequently used sound panning methods: Vector Base Amplitude Panning and Ambisonics. It shows the ways for sound panning by these methods. In next step are methods compared based on theoretical information and simulations in Matlab environment and one most suitable method is chosen for using in second part. This part describes image source method which enables parameters computation of direct sound wave and optional number of early reflections in rectangular room. Also is focused on problem of frequency dependent reflections. In conclusion it offer knowledge obtained by simulation of different auditory spaces with different topology.
Design of Reverberator for Room Acoustics Simulation
Húserka, Jozef ; Orlovský, Kristián (referee) ; Kurc, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with artificial simulation of acoustic spaces by using reverberators. Output of this document consists of four reverberation algorithms and function that evaluates objective parameters of acoustic space from impulse responses. Reverberators and script were implemented using Matlab. Graphical user interface is used to present all of the algorithms for easier usability. First chapter deals with objective parameters of acoustic spaces and the ways they are computed from impulse response. Second chapter describes various structures which are used to build reverberators. Those structures are used in third chapter in implementations of reverberators. Third chapter also compares all implemented reverberators . In last chapter experiment was made. Impulse responses of three spaces were measured and subsequently aproximated by algorithms implemented in this thesis.
Simulation of sound wave propagation in closed space
Černý, Filip ; Kurc, David (referee) ; Orlovský, Kristián (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with problem and solution of simulation in room acoustics. At the beginning is introduction with sound as waves and his behavior in closed space. Following part of text is dealing with computional methods in room acoustics, statistics methods , ray-based methods, wave-based methods. Following are focused FDTD wave method, which serves as the basis for creating simulation algorithm.Last part of this work is practical sample of MATLAB aplication enviroment for simulation of sound waves in closed room by explicit sub-methods of method FDTD. The last section contains an example and discussion of the results of simulations.
Using reverberators to modify space acoustics
Pavlikovský, Vladislav ; Orlovský, Kristián (referee) ; Kurc, David (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with adjusting the reverberation time of enclosed spaces. It is divided into two thematic areas. The first thematic area deals with active systems that adjust the reverberation time, with a stronger focus on usage of reverberators to simulate secondary spaces. The second thematic area is the implementation of reverberators and their fundamental building blocks in Matlab.
