The Linguistic Picture of Warsaw in Lyrics of Polish Songs

The aim of this diploma thesis, entitled "The Linguistic Picture of Warsaw in Lyrics of Polish Songs", is to reconstruct the image of the Polish capital by analyzing songs by Warsaw hip hop performers. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of three chapters focusing on the linguistic picture of the world, hip hop subculture both in the world and in Poland and the language of hip hop. The main goal of the practical part is to reconstruct the image of Warsaw as perceived by the Warsaw hip hop subculture. Comparison of development in usage of Anglicisms in colloquial Polish and colloquial Standard Slovak based on the Internet language

This bachelor's thesis Comparison of development in usage of Anglicisms in colloquial Polish and colloquial Standard Slovak based on the Internet language is focused on the comparison usage of anglicisms in colloquial Polish and colloquial Standard Slovak. The goal of this work is to compare the occurrence of anglicisms in selected Polish and Slovak beauty videos located on Youtube. The theoretical part deals with the introduction of the impact of foreign languages on Polish and Slovak and definition of basic terms. Further, it presents the classification of anglicisms in both languages and describes the ways of their adaptation (graphical, phonological, morphological and semantic adaptation). The practical part deals with the research of found anglicisms in selected sixteen videos, eight Polish and eight Slovak, from 2016 and 2019. The work examines the number of anglicisms, their percentage in videos, the most frequently represented word classes and semantic fields of found anglicisms. The results of the qualitative and quantitative research are summarized in the last part of work and research material is attached as appendix.

The Picture of Polish and Poland in the Language Textbooks for Czech

The thesis The Picture of Polish and Poland in the Language Textbooks for Czech reconstructs the image of Poland and Polish in the textbooks, grammar and other language books, which are addressed to Czech recipients. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part consists of three main sections, which are based on the secondary literature, the first focuses on the the linguistic picture of the world, the second deals with the stereotypes and the prototypes and the third aims at the didactics of foreign languages in the Czech and Polish background. The purpose of the practical part is, based on an analysis of selected topics, to create a coherent picture of Polish and Poland. The topics include, for example, the roles of a man and woman in the Polish family, the characteristics of the Poles, spending time, cuisine and eating, names and surnames, description of historical events etc.
