Conception of fast in judaism

Cílem této práce je popsat fenomén postu v judaismu, tedy jaké jsou jeho formy, jaký je mu přikládán význam a jaké postoje může vyjadřovat, jak je v židovské tradici reflektován a jak důležitou roli v náboženském životě hraje. Dále se pokusím zachytit jeho proměny a postupný vývoj, a to v časovém úseku od biblických dob, kdy máme první rozsáhlý literární pramen, v po biblickém a talmudickém období a dále ve stěžejním díle rabínského judaismu Šulchan aruch. Okrajově přihlížím také k názorům středověkého učence Moše ben Majmona (Maimonida). Mým záměrem je také zařadit fenomén postu v judaismu do širšího kontextu asketického úsilí, se kterým se setkáváme v různých náboženských systémech. Dále chci posoudit, zda vůbec a do jaké míry lze v daném období vysledovat asketické rysy v judaismu, případně jaké místo v něm zaujímají. Z důvodu rozsahu práce se nebudu podrobně zabývat různými menšími skupinami a proudy uvnitř judaismu, které jsou ovšem pro celkové pochopení tématu důležité, proto je nelze zcela opomenout. Téma, kterému se zde budu věnovat, není příliš systematicky zpracováno, nacházíme k němu pouze nemnohé zmínky, proto jsem se rozhodla se jím zabývat soustavněji. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Birkhot ha-shahar Text analysis and sources

The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the Birkhot ha-shahar rubric. It makes part of the morning liturgy, which is based on a set of blessings. At first, the study analyses the importance of prayer in the Judaism. Another aim is to describe the process which has led to the fixing of the prayer texts. Finally, it introduces the elementary structure of the current Jewish liturgy and it reflects the establishment of Birkhot ha-shahar and its application in the public divine service. Furthermore, the analysed texts divide this rubric into several chapters according to the content and development of the texts. The chapters reflect the origin and importance of the prayer texts.

Includes outline evolution of the Jewish community this region, from gradual emancipation, across assimilation, till to national consciousness, and beginnings persecution previous later "Shoa". Hold liable also evolution differings structures sociály, religious, and political life Jews community on Těšín Silesia. Farther there are here named different concrete cases, relative to discuss issue.
Feasts of the Messianic Jews

Messianic Judaism is a movement of the Jewish people, who believe that Jesus is the promised Jewish Messiah and Savior for Israel and the world. Messianic Jews have not stopped being Jewish. The rise of this movement began in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Today there are over 200 Messianis Synagogues it the United States and approximately 40 in Israel. The movement's rapid growth continues, with nex congregations being started in the former Soviet Union, Latin America, and in key cities around the world. They celebrate the Jewish feasts, meet on the Sabbath, teach from the Torah and engage in other Jewish customs. For them it is also reason to celebrate all the Biblical Holy Days.
A Comparison of Apocalyptic and Rationalistic Tendencies in Mediaeval Judaism

The theme of this work is Jewish messianism and its apocalyptic and rationalistic tendencies in Middle Ages. The thesis is opened by short introduction to phenomenon of messianism and its historical development throughout centuries, with a description of the biblical word Mashiah: how the word, which literally means "anointed", became synonym to words like "savior" or "redeemer". This part of the work reveals the necessary historical background - events that led to two great Jewish rebellions, destruction of ancient Israel and codification of Talmud face to face the growth of Christianity. All these events formed the Jewish messianism in following centuries.
