Study of thermal processes in system Er:Li.sub.2./sub.O-Y.sub.2./sub.O.sub.3./sub.-P.sub.2./sub.O.sub.5./sub
Zemenová, Petra ; Král, Robert ; Nitsch, Karel ; Cihlář, Antonín ; Bystřický, Aleš
This work deals with a study of the particle size influence of the thermally treated Er:Li2O-Y2O3-P2O5 glassy powder samples on the effects of glass transformation and crystallization. Further, it presents the mineralogical composition of the crystallization products and material properties of prepared glasses.

Influence of Sc.sup.3+./sup. doping on Pr.sup.3+./sup. emission in epitaxial scintillation garnet layers
Hanuš, M. ; Kučera, M. ; Nikl, Martin ; Nitsch, Karel ; Průša, Petr ; Mareš, Jiří A. ; Onderišinová, Z.
Yttrium (Y3Al5O12) and lutetium (Lu3Al5O12) aluminium garnets doped by rare earths such as Ce, Eu, Pr, are considered as very good scintillation materials. The garnets have chemical, mechanical, and radiation stability superior to most of scintillation materials and light yield is high, thus they are often used as scintillation screens.

Basic concept of Hybrid Photo Detectors (HPD) or Hybrid photo Multiplier (HPMT) combines vacuum sealed photocathode and Si-PIN diode as anode and is known more than 50 yers. Considerable improvement of these detectors in connected with a development of more efficient Si-PIN diodes.
Thermal properties and crystallization kinetics of Er:LiY(PO.sub.3./sub.).sub.4./sub. glass
Rodová, Miroslava ; Cihlář, Antonín ; Král, Robert ; Sveshnikov, Alexey ; Nitsch, Karel
This contribution deals with study on thermal properties of phosphate glass with a nominal composition of Er:LiY(PO3)4 when searching new scintillation glasses.
Application of thermal analysis in study of crystalline materials and glasses
Nitsch, Karel
Paper presents an outline of thermal analysis methods (differential thermal analysis (DTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetry (TG), thermomechnical analysis (TMA)), their historical development, characterization and application in study of crystalline materials and glasses.
Analysis of crystallization kinetics of Li-Y phosphate glass under non-isothermal conditions
Nitsch, Karel ; Rodová, Miroslava ; Sveshnikov, Alexey
Crystallization kinetics of erbium doped LiY(PO3)4 glass was studied experimentally using DSC under non-isothermal conditions. Based on the experimental data the applicability of Johnson-Mehl-Avrami model was tested for description of crystallization kinetics of above mentioned glass.
Preparation and thermal properties of glassy LiY(PO.sub.3./sub.).sub.4./sub..
Rodová, Miroslava ; Král, Robert ; Nitsch, Karel
Glass with composition of LiY(PO3)4 was prepared by quenching of molten mixture of lithium carbonate, yttrium phosphate and P2O5. Crystallization kinetics was experimentally studied using non-isothermal DSC and data obtained were evaluated by means of Johnson-Mehl-Avrami and Matusita models.
Glass formation conditions in supercooled molten zinc chloride
Rodová, Miroslava ; Kožíšek, Zdeněk ; Nitsch, Karel
Solidification of ZnCl2 melt was studied experimentally by methods of thermal analysis and theoretically by construction of TTT curves.
