Vadlejch, Petr ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Nekvasil, Marek (referee)
The main objective of this document is to introduce available web user interface design tools to readers from general public. This document is organized into several chapters that include theoretical and practical information about selected applications and tools according to their main purpose. It is necessary to distinguish between graphical design tools, design of structure (wire frame), design of prototype, tools for final website generation like WYSIWYG or programs that combine visual and code instruments. The final results evaluation is based on practical experience with application and tool testing. The main contribution to the topic discussed throughout this document lies in the ability to bring an overview of basic application tools available on the market. It is important to mention again that all introduced tools do not require any programming skills.

Nekvasil, Marek ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Novotný, Ota (referee) ; Mikulecký, Peter (referee) ; Paralič, Ján (referee)
Broader and broader areas of application deployment are covered by semantic technologies recently and in the meantime their scope is increasing constantly. The possibilities of semantic applications are now so vast that they cannot be judged as a single market segment any more. The business skepticism that arises due to the uncertainty of investments in such technologies is only augmented by these differences and picking up on that this thesis concentrates on the aspects that can enable and evaluate not only the economic efficiency of engaging the semantic technologies in a business environment but also the effectiveness of doing so. This work concentrates on the ways of how to prove the differences amongst semantic applications, define their distinct segments based on use-case, and subsequently identify their Critical Success Factors and evaluate them against the real conditions of the applications' deployment with the participation of people involved in their development. Following the results of these interactions this thesis presents an innovative approach that enables to construct models for judging the maturity of enterprises for the deployment of the respective applications including the actual construction of these models for all the identified applications' use-cases segments. Moreover, in a later part of the work the evaluation using these models is demonstrated on AQUA application (outcome of a project the author did personally partake in) along with sketching additional specifics that may help the timely assessment of semantics in certain cases. The results presented in later chapters are supported by the underlying background researches in the fields of Semantic Technologies and IT assessment both of whose state-of-the-art methods are described here. Usability of the current standardized methods (such as those used in COBIT) for assessing semantic applications is also considered with respect to the lack of other best practices in business deployment of semantics.
Analysis of imperfections of the popular content management systems and a suggestion how to solve them
Kohout, Vojtěch ; Kliegr, Tomáš (advisor) ; Nekvasil, Marek (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is to reveal significant imperfections of the popular open-source Content Management Systems (CMS) and to design and implement a core of a custom extensible CMS system. Such a system, based on a modern PHP framework, could be a better choice than open-source CMS systems for webdesigners using it for commercial purposes. There are three open-source CMS systems analyzed from various perspectives in the first chapter: Drupal, CMS Made Simple and TYPOlight. In the second chapter there are introduced benefits from using a modern PHP framework and a custom CMS system is designed. It is completely implemented in the appendix of the thesis. The most important and the most original contribution of this thesis is a design and implementation of a core of a custom CMS system in Nette Framework.
Webhosting options for small organization
Borka, Richard ; Měsíček, Libor (advisor) ; Nekvasil, Marek (referee)
Internet is the information channel for the new millennium. Practically every businessman who had intend and mainly need to inform about his services, had to use some information channel. Especially press, radio and since the mid-twentieth century the television. Ability of being publicly known is simply one of the basic elements for successful business. Who was not able of that, failed. And also today, in digital era, it can be very unwise to underestimate power of the presentation on the internet. This thesis handles options and ways for publication of such a presentation. Too many variations and large number of providers makes this combination even more tricky. The objective of this work is to help every new or existing business-greedy person to get oriented on the Czech hosting market and help them to choose the right place for their internet presentation.
CMS Joomla! and Ontopia Knowledge Suite Integration
Hazucha, Andrej ; Kliegr, Tomáš (advisor) ; Nekvasil, Marek (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to outline issues related to integration of Content Management Systems and Knowledge Bases based on semantic web technologies. The work begins with semantic technologies research and their use cases. The possibilities and proposals of integration of these technologies into CMS and collaborative wikis are discussed. As far as the most of open-source CMS are based on PHP platform tools written in PHP are insisted. CMS Joomla! and Ontopia Knowledge Suite integration is demonstrated in practical the part of the thesis. Possibility to communicate with different systems that allow HTTP requests is presented, too. Joomla! and OKS communication is through RESTful TMRAP protocol implemented in OKS. The query language used in this case is tolog. Communication with SPARQL endpoint or XML database is also demonstrated. Raw XML returned from Knowledge Base data source is transformed by XSLT into (X)HTML fragments. The transformations are user defined. Created demo application is included into SEWEBAR project. This application enables to incorporate results of semantically rich queries into analytical reports of data mining tasks within CMS Joomla! Interface.
Using semantic technologies in markup languages
Štencek, Jiří ; Nekvasil, Marek (advisor) ; Kliegr, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyzes the use of semantic technologies in the field of today's web portals. The aim is to map the major web servers and services. Work on the contrary seek cover all sites (blogs, corporate sites, etc.) that use semantic technologies, as it had almost no meaningful value. Contribution of this work should be an analysis of the implementation of semantic technologies on the Internet. This should show how much vision of the Semantic Web expands. How many web sites use this technology. Web sites that we use every day and which offer capabilities and features that we might not even know. Other benefits could be for example: extending the use of Semantic Web tools (Operator plugin, Semantic Radar), information awareness among Internet users who have never heard about this term. In other hand, it could be a basis to further and more detailed mapping of semantic sites. For example, statistically-oriented work on the utilization rates of ontological dictionaries. The work begins with an introduction to the world wide web as a beginning to the present, outlining the basic ideology WWW. Show us the pitfalls of the current WWW and its possible further development line. Chapter entitled Understanding the Semantic Web describes the basic building stones and architecture of this vision. Describes the framework RDF, ontology, and not forget the section on the safety of the Semantic Web. With this knowledge we have chapter Integration semantics on the current WWW to learn about options, where to find the necessary metadata and related principles of Linked Data. metadata to (X) HTML. More specifically, we describe microformats, RDFa and the eRDF. Conclusion chapter makes the comparison of these technologies and and show us practical examples of their implementation. The last chapter, which is called Analysis of the use of knowledge technologies now brings you an overview of the servers that use one of the above technologies. Describes the open source database, semantic search engines, ontological dictionaries and finally community and information portals. The results of the present chapter is a summary of the implementation and reflection on the real benefits and possible incentives Semantic Web.
Socialn and community networks
Harášek, Luboš ; Nekvasil, Marek (advisor) ; Chudán, David (referee)
The aim of thesis is to examine and compare the most important world and Czech internet social networks. For these social networks then secondly to describe the benefits to society and their usability in marketing, but also their seamy sides which represent a danger for users. The objectives of this thesis are the exploration of the internet and book resources and their evaluation. Another source of support for the research results is an Internet questionnaire. This bachelor thesis is divided into four main parts. The first explains the theory of the social and community networks, Web 2.0 and Semantic Web. The second part describes the various social networks and compared their basic services. This is followed by a summary of trends in social networks, the benefits and dangers of social networks. In the last part are presented the results of Internet surveys and reflection on the ideal social network. Benefit of this thesis is to create an overview of most social networks and alert readers to the dangers of these social networks. In reflecting on the ideal social network, describes how this social network might look like, what would allow and how it was solved. Poll among Internet users, shows the view of respondents on the issue and their behaviour in social networks.
Community portal

For those interested in establishing the portal is a useful proposal for their own applications, including economic aspects.
Projection and implementation of web application for support of internet trading
David, Petr ; Nekvasil, Marek (advisor) ; Chudán, David (referee)
The goal of the work is to analyse, project and implement web application which will provide users and operators with basic function of an electronic shop. The work will catch the emergence of the application from the first projects to the final implementation. The application will be using an interface of web browsers, it will be implemented in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and SQL languages. A Database will be one of the very basic components of the whole application. Its regular projection will be necessary for the behaviour of the whole programme and it will be emphasized during the projection. The acquistion of the work will be a functional application, which could be used by little businesses (after a little correction as a particularly customization and design adapting) for their activity. The work will also show that creation of a similar application does not need to be only a subject of activity of a team of experts, but that a qualified individual can also reach a nice result. The work will have six chapters. The present condition analysis will target the trends of present electronic shops. It will find out their functions and services. System requirements will emerge of the analysis and they will determine main functionality of the application. Global analysis will define entities and relationships and then it will construct the design of the logical data structure. Detail analysis will give the attributes of entities, transform logical design into a conceptual and physical model of a database, and determine referential integrity. In implemention part, the application itself will emerge and search engine optimization and safety will also be mentioned there. The last chapter will be about the possibilities of extension which could improve utility value of the system.
