Determinants of perception of corruptive action

The diploma thesis is focused on the factors determining the perception of corruption, especially bribery. Its aim is to examine how selected situational and personality characteristics affect the extent to which certain behavior is perceived as corrupt. The theoretical part consists of the synthesis of theoretical knowledge about the phenomenon of corruption with a focus on its psychological aspects. The empirical part is based on the realization of the online questionnaire experiment, the main part of which consists of 11 hypothetical scenarios, which are evaluated in terms of the level of corruption. According to the prevailing finding is a certain behavior more often assessed as corrupt in the case of financial reward, "in advance" reward, required reward, the actor's consent to the incentive for corruption, the respondent's experience with bribery and surrogate experience with corruption. Less often, corruption is perceived in the presence of high probability of accepting or offering a bribe by the respondent, a high level of perceived prevalence of corruption in the Czech Republic and the perceived moral acceptability of corruption, and also in the case of service reward.
