Flooding in the Czech Republic in 2002 from the perspective of victims and helpers: implications for the organization of the help, psychosocial aspects of the help

A survey of 492 households, which were struck by floods in the Czech Republic in 2002, has been carried out in collaboration with the Czech Caritas in winter of 2003/2004 in all the struck regions of the Czech Republic. Structured interview technique administered by interviewers was chosen and supplemented with several scales and was focused on the issues of the course of the flood, impact on the household, of the provided and needed help, and of the psychological impact of the event. Within another part of the research, professional helpers reflected their own experience too. The results are focused primarily on the issues of the needs of the victims in relation to the impact of deluges, on the organization of the help, on the impact of deluges on the minds of victims, and on the psychosocial aspects of the aid.

Myths and cyberspace

The problematic of cyberspace and new psychological phenomenons are pursuingin this article. Level of openness of cyberspace, origin and dynamics of virtual communities are also covered. Author is exploring some new interaction phenomenons established by new mode of interaction with computer. These are framed by Levi's principles of cyberculture: connectivity, emergence of cybercomunities and global intelligence phenomenon. From social psychological point of view are presented specifics of cyberspace linked with piece of knowledge from computer games field to communication on the net. Humans' moving in cyberspace is described.

The life-style of skinheads in Brno cominity: The Focus group method?

This study was aimed at some aspects of Czech skinhead´s life style. The focus was on the narratives, which were relevant from the participant´s point of view: social status, value orentation, attitudes towards minorities, peers, parents, and towards authorities. Their emotional coping style, aggressive feelings, identification with ideology of skinhead movement, and their self-presentation were also described. Research was carried out as a qualitative moderated focus group with 10 members of the skinhead movement.

Caritas Response on flood: adequacy and effectiveness of psychosocial aid

This report resumes results of the research about the efficacy of aid, which was provided to the victims of flood in the Czech Republic in 2002. Introductory chapter includes survey of knowledges about catastrophical events, human reactions to these events, and about the organizational and providing principles for help by these events. Next chapters pursue results of the qualitative research of the workers view to the flood and important and critical moments in aid providing, and of quantitative research of flood (including aid) nursing from the view of victims. Special part of the report pursue the image of one from the aid providers ů assigner of the project, Czech Caritas ů in printed media. Project was realized in cooperation with Czech Caritas and by financial contributing of German Caritas (DCV).

Contractual Ensuring of International Transportation

This diploma thesis address to a contractual ensuring of an international transportation from the business and the legal points of view as a part of intenrational business operations. It describes the clasification of freight transports and its economic significance in the world an in the case of the Czech Republic, as well. The thesis also characterizes the different types of transport contracts from the points of view of the Czech legislation as well as international treaties that is the Czech Republic a part of, including the ways of ensuring the customs declaration of transported goods. The thesis also includes a practical part focused on specifics of a dangerous goods transportation and the analysis of the related risks.
