Modular File Scanner for RPM
Fluorescence spectroscopy of humic acids by excitation-emission matrix.
Mlčoch, Tomáš ; Pospíšilová, Ľubica (referee) ; Fasurová, Naděžda (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis was measurement and characterization of EEM (excitation emisssion spectra) of IHSS humic acids standards and soil, lignite humic and fulvic acids and humates prepared from different sources. The aim was to follow the differences in their fluorescence spectra and to determine precise location of fluorescence peaks. Target of this work was to find the optimal way for exporting of scan data to the 3D EEM spectrofluorographs. The dependence of relative intensity of fluorescence on pH value was studied further.
Network Attack Capture Using Honeypots
Mlčoch, Tomáš ; Chmelař, Petr (referee) ; Richter, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with honeypot tools and adapting a Linux operating system into such tool. The thesis presents general categories of malicious codes and current trends in this area. The thesis also presents an existing honeypot tool Honeyd and its features. Next there are introduced tools and techniques to monitor a Linux system, compared the selected virtualization technology and explained the process of creating a virtual Linux honeypot.

Ekonomie zlatého zločinu
Mlčoch, Tomáš ; Schwarz, Jiří (advisor) ; Dušek, Libor (referee)
This master's thesis examines a criminal response to the sharp increase in the real gold price between the years 1998 and 2012. By using a regression analysis, I show that an increase in the real gold price does not have a significant impact on the number of golden crimes but the gold price significantly influences the stolen amount of gold with the elasticity of 2.2. In addition, an increase of lagged real wage and non-lagged real wage, and the number of prisoners significantly decreases golden crime whereas increased unemployment has a negative impact. Moreover, I find that in all types of a regression analysis (daily, monthly and quarterly) higher temperature and also lower cloudiness (as proxies for the good weather) significantly increase the golden crime rate. The daily model also revealed that during weekends and holidays there is significantly and markedly lower crime.
Vede (příjmová) nerovnost k většímu násilí ve společnosti?
Mlčoch, Tomáš ; Houdek, Petr (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
The article investigates the impact of inequality on violence in society using the data from the EU for the years from 2005 to 2008. The results show a positive and significant impact (in 2005) of inequality on violent crime while increase by one point in the Gini index means an increase in violent crime by 6,1%. Moreover, I find the relationship with the GDP growth and prison population significant, and negative correlation with GNI PPP per capita and the number of police officers. Above all, the Power Distance Index (measuring perceived inequality and centralisation of power) has a very significant and positive effect on violent crime, an increase in 1 point means an increase in violent crime by 1,8%. The factor of residential segregation is also discussed as a limit or a bias during the investigation of the effect of inequality and violence using the data from a smaller territorial unit than the state-level.
