User tools to support automated functional testing of prototypes in product development
Grabovský, Štěpán ; Macháček, Jiří (referee) ; Svoboda, Radomír (advisor)
This work deals with develop of PC application to support automated testing of prototypes, which are developing in Honeywell International, Inc., ACS division in Brno. There was created a PC software witch executes testing process based on input script files. For select script files and specify other necessary information was designed a graphic user interface. Testing information are being presented in a program information control in real-time as the same as results of tests. The application also allow to users save the log file. The program has been realized in C# programing language.

Early Medieval Swords from the Czech Republic (9th-10th Centuries)
Košta, Jiří ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Macháček, Jiří (referee) ; Marek, Lech (referee)
Early Medieval Swords from the Czech Republic (9th-10th Centuries) Swords provide valuable information on early medieval technologies, warfare, and society. The variability of hilts and signs on blades, as well as changes in the blacksmithing, make swords extraordinary tools for both chronological classification of archaeological sources, and for a comparison among the material culture of various regions of early medieval Europe. The dissertation contains a comprehensive evaluation of early medieval sword finds from the Czech Republic originated from the period, when it was customary to bury weapons in graves (in the 9th-10th centuries). An objectivity of the assemblage's assessment was ensured due the detailed review, which included personal documentation and X-ray imaging of almost all swords. Approximately one third of the studied swords was examined metallographically. Both detailed information about the swords and a brief description of the find circumstances are summarized in included catalogue. The Czech sword finds are compared with European swords, the study of which is based on systematic data collection. The main part of the study is a detailed analysis of the shape, construction and decoration of hilts and blades (pattern-welding, marks, and inscriptions). The new findings concerning...

Three Liberal Theories of Justice
Macháček, Jiří ; Šimsa, Martin (advisor) ; Váňa, Tomáš (referee)
The mail goal of this thesis is to introduce the modern theory of liberal justice with a focus on distributive justice. In addition, the author addresses the issue of value neutrality in the liberal state and the concept of equality in liberal theory. The author presents the concept of "justice as fairness" described by liberal political philosopher John Rawls. Afterwards his concept is subjected to criticism of other contemporary liberal philosophers Robert Nozick and Ronald Dworkin. The author briefly looks into coherence between mentioned philosophers and earlier representatives of liberal theory, as well as their non-liberal critics. The first chapter contains a list of thinkers and their contributions to the issue of justice and the social contract theory. The following three chapters concerns the interpretation of the concepts of three mentioned authors using critical analysis of their publications. In the fifth chapter are described concepts of thinkers who critically respond to Rawl's theory of justice generally reffered to as communitarians, including the conception of Jürgen Habermas. In the sixth chapter the author summarizes the main theoretical background and arguments of discussed liberal philosophers. Finally the thesis is concluded by their comparison and summary of key facts and...

Microparasites and fecundity of Daphnia at environmental gradients of canyon-shaped reservoirs
Hubová, Jana ; Petrusek, Adam (advisor) ; Macháček, Jiří (referee)
The original aim of my diploma thesis was examination of fixed samples of cladocerans from the Daphnia longispina species complex from reservoirs Vír and Vranov for the presence of 4 groups of microparasites: microsporidia, oomycetes, the protozoan Caullerya mesnili, and the yeast Metschnikowia bicuspidata. The next aim was to determine the effect of parasites on Daphnia fecundity, and determination of their spatial and temporal distribution within reservoirs. From the total number 4452 of examined Daphnia females, however, only 56 individuals were infected. This number was not sufficient for the planned analyses. As I recorded for all examined individuals the clutch size, I thus dealt to a large extent with an alternative issue: the temporal and spatial variation of, and the influence of environmental factors on Daphnia fecundity. Both studied reservoirs are characteristic by canyon-shaped profile that allows formation of environmental gradients on the horizontal as well as vertical axis. The results confirm that reservoir identity, season, and location within the reservoir (or gradient of food supply) have all significant effects on fecundity. During my work I have encountered difficulties associated with determining microparazites from fixed zooplankton samples. The appendix section of my thesis...
