Lejčková, Jana ; Novotný, Vilém (advisor) ; Frič, Pavol (referee)
The expert capacity of umbrella NGOs is not adequately addressed in the literature, although it is a key issue. This issue is pointing to the growing demands for accountable and transparent organizations with the expertise needed in the form of professionals who can actively promote the importance and interests of NGOs in a public policy process. Expert capacity is described in this case as the ability to perform analytical work in selected umbrella NGOs which focus on advocating interests and influencing the policy process. The aim of this work is to understand the expert capacity of the umbrella platforms of NGOs in advocating their interests and their influence on policy making and to outline the possibility of more effective cooperation with the state. For this purpose were chosen all-state national umbrella platforms, which defend the interests of organizations throughout the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, the public policy theories: policy work, policy analytical capacity and evidence-based policy making are presented to facilitate the concept of expert capacities, complemented by the theory of interdependence, which presupposes mutual cooperation between civil society organizations and the state. Second part of the thesis analyzes the policy analytical capacity of two all-round...
Accessibility of stomatologic care for homeless people
Lejčková, Jana ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Matoušek, Petr (referee)
Health of homeless people is worse in comparison with the general population and despite the guaranteed equal right to health and the crucial role of basic health services in the concept of health care barriers are found. These barriers appear in the availability of treatment by conventional dentists in Prague. The aim of this work is to evaluate the (un)availability of dental care, how different are the accesses of homeless dental and conventional dental practices to homeless patients. Next aim of the work is why are homeless people refused from accessing dental care. Last aim deal with the influence of the unavailability of dental care in the overall health of homeless people. Qualitative methods of semi-structured and expert interviews research used in the empirical part had shown that the unavailability of dental care lies mainly in the stigmatization of the homeless as well as in the existence of health risks. The main difference from a specialized dentistry resides in the absence of charges, positive attitudes and expectations of risks. The rejections of homelesses are in the conventional surgery based on the lack of evidence, stigma and fear of the risks of treatment. The unavailability of dental care can carry a profound impact on the overall health of homeless people and even lead to death.

Nursing care of patients with pacemaker
LEJČKOVÁ, Jana
This Bachelor{\crq}s thesis focuses on nursing care for patients after the implantation of a pacemaker, on the providing of information to clients about nursing care and on the benefits of educational materials for patients in hard copy format. Long-term cardiostimulation is used to treat symptomatic cardiac rhythm disorders, where the heart muscle is stimulated for its activity from an external source {--} a pacemaker. The actual implantation amounts to a small surgical procedure that involves possible risks and complications, and professionally provided nursing care is intended to reduce those risks. The thorough informing of the patient by the nursing team increases the patient{\crq}s comfort during hospitalization and can reduce the risk of postoperative complications and fear of the procedure itself. Through proper education after the implantation of a pacemaker both before the patient is released for home healthcare and during outpatient follow-ups, we enable the patient to resume daily living without problems. We obtained the findings for this Bachelor{\crq}s thesis by conducting a quantitative survey using the method of an anonymous questionnaire. For the compiling of the results, 93 properly completed questionnaires were used. The first hypothesis of the research focused on the positive evaluation by clients of provision of information about nursing care after the implantation of a pacemaker. The results of the survey indicated that clients are given sufficient information by physicians, general practice and cardiostimulation nurses, that patients are becoming better informed in recent years, and that patients appreciate receiving the information. The second hypothesis mapped the benefit of educational materials on nursing care in hard copy. Respondents rated the materials as comprehensible and beneficial, providing clients with valuable practical advice about living with a pacemaker.
