Long Term Condition Monitoring in Order to Assessment of Existing Masonry Arch Railway Bridges

Thesis rises from an actual needs to make standard of practice for assessment an existing arch railway masonry bridges on the basis of condition long term monitoring. Bridge assessment is a part of any inspection, especially in case of doubts arising during inspections due to heavy defects, increase of axle load or increase of train frequency, which may influence the structural safety, traffic safety or durability of a bridge. There are possibilities for utilization of monitoring results for assessment in case of investigation data absece. An important option is assessment based on satisfactory past performance by ČSN ISO 13822, chapter 8.

Production hall MONTGAS - realization of the gross substructure

The bachelor thesis deals with the realization of the gross substructure of the new production hall of the company MONTGAS a.s. in Hodonín on the street U Kyjovky. Part of this technological phase is the realization of earthworks, driven gravel FRANKI piles, driven reinforced concrete FRANKI piles, cast-in-place reinforced concrete foundation pads, sills and strip foundations, soil slab, base layers and reinforced concrete floors of the building including steel fibre reinforced concrete slab and cast-in-place reinforced concrete structure of the paint shop inside the production hall. It also includes damp proof layer and insulation of foundation structures. The content of this work is the technology of earthworks and all piles in the form of technological regulation. Construction costs are calculated in an itemized budget from student version of the BUILDpowerS software with a bill of quantities. The schedule is drawn up in the form of a schedule from student version of the CONTEC software. Plans are in place to ensure both quality and safety during construction.

Kindergarten Kuřim - construction technology project

The subject of the thesis is the solution of selected parts of the construction technology project of the construction of a kindergarten in Kuřim on Hybešova Street. It is a single-story brick building with a flat roof with a green roof. In my work I solve the study of the main technological stages, technological regulations for the monolithic ceiling structure and the green roof of the Smart Roof Solutions system together with inspection and test plans, design of the main construction machines, time and a financial plan for the main building of the kindergarten, the building time and financial plan for the entire construction plan, the balance of workers and the deployment of construction machinery and the construction site equipment project. Then I add a noise study, assessment of selected LEED 2009 Core & Shell credits, design of the TOPSAFE restraint system, health and safety plan, documentation of the green roof of the Smart Roof Solutions system and a search on the topic of green roofs.

Mechanical behaviour of variably saturated clay fills VLADISLAVA KOSTKANOVÁ Ph.D. Thesis - English Abstract The excavated overburden from open-cast coal mines is end-dumped in fills. Clay type soil prevails among the filled soils in North-western Bohemia. As a consequence of the character and state of the soil, together with the mining and dumping technology, a typical lumpy structure of the clay fill is formed. The filled lumps range in size and vary in mechanical properties, but stiff to solid lumps up to 0.5 m in size are prevalent. Large and open macrovoids between the single lumps are a characteristic feature of the clay fills. Clay fills exhibit a double porosity structure, consisting of intergranular porosity between the lumps and intragranular porosity inside them. The total porosity of the freshly filled soils can reach 70%. This type of clay fill structure is metastable. This thesis focuses on the problematic behaviour of clay fill soils due to their metastable structure and their partly saturated state. Long-term monitoring of matric suction at depths up to 2 metres in two reclaimed clay fills revealed two different trends. Seasonally-dependent suction oscillations were recorded in the moderate slope of the clay fill in the Bílina mine, while no suction pointing to fully saturated conditions was...

Knowledge sharing applications and their safety

The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to describe security issues of knowledge sharing web applications. Basic terms related to the topic are defined in the theoretical part. Types of tests that can be used to verify safety of the application are described further, followed by introduction of OWASP foundation and their development and documentation projects. The project OWASP Top Ten 2013 informing about the ten most critical security threats to web application is then described in more detail. Finally, theoretical part presents knowledge sharing applications and their best-known open-source representatives. Practical part of the thesis is dedicated to penetration testing the three most widely used wiki applications. A particular testing methodology is presented, including the procedure and the results of the tests themselves. The results are commented and explained in detail and the overall security of every application is evaluated. Contribution of this bachelor's thesis is verification of security in currently most widely used knowledge sharing applications and finding their vulnerabilities. The test results together with the found insufficiencies will be sent to the developers of these applications.

Business evaluation of the company Kiekert-CS, s.r.o.

The aim of this thesis is to determine the market value of the company Kiekert-CS, s.r.o. as of 1 April 2013. Strategic analysis is the first part of this thesis, which has a crucial role throughout the valuation, because there is identified the market development potential, business potential of Kiekert-CS, s.r.o. and the means, which the company owns. Several studies of leading consulting companies are used for determination of market potential. Subsequently, there is prepared financial analysis and value drivers forecast, which underlines the financial plan. DCF equity method serves as an essential method within the process of valuation, method of market multiples is used as a complementary one. The final market value of the company Kiekert-CS, s.r.o. is set in the range of 2,9 billion CZK and 3,4 billion CZK, with the most likely market value considered by the author 3,38 billion CZK.
