The Comparison of the Selected Health Indicators of the EU Members Abstract The Goal of this thesisis is to analyse nine representative health indicators in a way demonstrating best level of healthcare of individual member states of the European Union. The indicators in question, their definitions and representative qualities are thoroughly described in the theoretical part of the thesis. In the second part of the thesis the average figures of the indicators from 2005 untill 2011 of all member states are analysed and furthemore each health indicator has been assigned with additional indicator i.e. economic, social or demografic and their mutual dependence have been examined. Koňařík, Eliška ; Kraus, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Burcin, Boris (referee) ; Čtrnáct, Pavel (referee)
Spatial differentiation of migration processes in the Czech Republic Abstract The aim of this study is to analyze internal migration in the Czech Republic and assess the extent to which selected indicators contribute to internal migration of the population in the municipalities in the Czech Republic. The first part is focused on the theoretical background for this study and on the discussion of literature. On the basis of literature the indicators were selected for subsequent analysis. The selected indicators are: the number of completed dwellings, the number of jobs, unemployment rate and population density. The next part outlines the development of internal migration in the Czech Republic between 1991-2012. After the subsequent evaluation of the development of selected indicators and internal migration at the municipal level, the relationship of migration and selected indicators for determined years is analyzed through linear regression, exploratory spatial data analysis and geographically weighted regression. The result is an assessment of the impact of selected indicators on internal migration in the Czech Republic and evaluation of the contribution of the methods used for exploration of relationships between migration and selected indicators. Malárik, Michal ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Kraus, Jaroslav (referee)
Comparative analysis of mortality intensity by selected causes of death in the Czech Republic and Slovakia Abstract The aim of study is to review differences in changes in mortality rates of selected cancer types between Czech and Slovak Republic for 1996-2013. Analysis describes also spatial distribution of selected cancer mortality rates on county-level of both states. This study uses demographic and statistical analysis methods. During the period 1996-2013 increased mortality rate in Czech Republic only for lung cancer among women. Other cancers among both sexes showed decreases in mortality. On the other hand, mortality due to lung cancer among men in Slovak Republic was the only decrease described during the study period in Slovakia. Spatial analysis detected significant clustering of higher mortality rates for lung cancer, breast cancer and colorectal cancer in both republics. This thesis can be used to identify regions, where is needed better healthcare with a priority of preventive action, and it also can be helpful with regional planning or as an origin for deeper analysis. Keywords: mortality, spatial analysis, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, Czech Republic, Slovakia

Vyplel, Dan ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kraus, Jaroslav (referee)
Nuptiality in the Czech Republic: cross-sectional and cohort view Abstract The objective of this study is to describe the development of primo-nuptiality in the Czech Republic from 1961 to 2014 using primo-nuptiality life tables. These tables have been calculated to such an extent with the use of the same methodology for the first time and thus their complete mutual comparability is guaranteed. For each period there are selected years, which are then in detail examined primarily in terms of intensity and timing of first marriages. As for illustration there are also mentioned external socioeconomic factors of the given time period, which has been affecting the discussed indicators. The last chapter of the study adresses a cohort view on primo-nuptiality of specific birth cohorts. The development of the cohort primo-nuptiality quantum by age and respective differences are investigated. Keywords: primo-nuptiality, nuptial, conjugation of nuptiality, marriage, cross-sectional, cohort, primo-nuptiality life tables, Czech Republic

Main causes of death counted among these groups are neoplasms, circulatory system diseases and external causes of death. Studied period covers the existence of independent Czech Republic, but with the exclusion of the year 1993 due to changes in the International Classification of Diseases in 1994. This thesis also focuses on risk factors and prevention of considered groups of causes of death, again primarily with regard to gender differences. Indicators used for this purposes consist of standardized mortality rate, the age-specific probability of death from a given cause, temporary life expectancy and decomposition of the difference of temporary life expectancy between men and women by age groups. The probability of death and life expectancy are calculated from abbreviated life tables for a given group of causes of death separately for men and women. Population development in the districts of Prague between 2001 and 2013
Křenková, Lenka ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Kraus, Jaroslav (referee)
The main goal of this study is to analyse population development in Prague districts in between 2001 and 2013. Within this frame the processes of mortality, fertility, migration and population aging are also examined. As a part of this study, a sample survey on the policies of districts regarding issues with demographic structure was made. The results prove, that life expectancy at birth generally rose in Prague, with differences from district to district. It also rose faster for the population of men. The total fertility rate also grew, as well as the mean age of mothers giving birth. The center of the city lost some of its population from migration, mainly due to migration to the outer districts. Whereas, districts on the outskirts saw an increase in migration. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
