Design and Implementation of Survival Computer Game
Kováč, Ondrej ; Polášek, Tomáš (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
Táto bakalárska práca sa zameriava na návrh a implementáciu postapokalyptickej survival počítačovej hry s RPG prvkami nazvanej "Beneath the Mushroom Clouds". Práca obsahuje krátky úvod do herného priemyslu a žánrov opisujúcich hru, všeobecný prehľad herných enginov a špecifické aspekty herného enginu Unity. Ďalej popisuje návrh a implementáciu niektorých individuálnych prvkov, ktoré tvoria danú hru. Implementácia týchto prvkov je popísaná konceptuálne s minimálnymi ukážkami kódu.
Automobile Mirror Testing
Kováč, Ondrej ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor) ; Malohlava, Michal (referee)
In many sectors of the industry, the testing is a part of the production process. It prevents defective goods to appear on the market. Manually assemble automobile mirrors are tested to meet the minimal requirements of the producer and to reject badly mounted pieces. We decided to automate this process in order speed up and ensure the reliability of the testing. A special hardware was designed for this purpose. It is completely controlled by our application running on a regular PC. One of the improvements we have accomplished is a noticeable acceleration of the testing achieved by the parallel test execution. Development of this project contributes to the creation of a library for controlling industrial hardware.
Optimization of DEECo gossip-based communication
Kováč, Ondrej ; Bureš, Tomáš (advisor) ; Arcaini, Paolo (referee)
The spread of wireless devices inspired the creation of a DEECo component model suitable for designing applications with immanent mobility and dynamic composition where the system architecture emerges at runtime. A great challenge in implementation of such a system is the underlying communication mechanism based on gossip protocol in order to achieve resilience and suitability for MANET networks. In this thesis we propose an optimization of the protocol exploiting infrastructure networks, but still preserving the gossip-like communication without a centralized element. The improvement is based on forming communication groups introduced at the design level. The experiments show a substantial decrease in the number of sent messages and a decrease in time of data delivery. The timing aspect of data delivery is further elaborated for MANET networks by implementing a pulling mechanism with significant improvement of the latency. Part of this thesis is dedicated to a formal specification of the system semantic to provide a precise rationale about its properties and laying the ground for further extensions and research. Mobile applications for policyholders
Kováč, Ondřej ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Vacek, Martin (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with mobile applications for policyholders in the segment of general insurance. Aims of thesis are to create an analysis of existing applications on market in the Czech Republic, reveal their shortcomings, design a new application and then create it and make it available for policyholders of all insurers. The first chapter of thesis contains definition of basic terms that are used later in text. Analysis of existing applications is the content of second chapter. It is based on examination of functions of existing applications and the reviews from users and experts. Design of the new application is described in chapter three and is included as a runnable HTML prototype on the attached disk. Description of implemented application is included in the next part of the third chapter and application itself is available for download from Google Play and can also be found on the attached disk. The main benefits of thesis are the analysis of mobile insurance applications market, the new application available for all policyholders, and some recommendations resulting from re-search for companies intending to produce their own application.
Comparison of Open Source relational database systems
Kováč, Ondřej ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Palovská, Helena (referee)
This thesis deals with the subject of Open Source relational database systems. Its goal is to provide an overview about these systems, analyze their position on market and compare them according to predefined comparative criteria, which are focused on specific general features and administration of database systems. The first part of the thesis provides necessary theoretical knowledge about database systems describes currently most widely used types of these systems and explains the term Open Source software. Next one is aimed on how are these systems used in companies information systems and how are they positioned on database market. Third part presents four most widespread Open Source relational database systems, states their development in time from their creation till nowadays and what licenses are they provided under. Following is a part dedicated to specification of comparative criteria, which is followed by the comparison of database systems in these criteria, always using one of three evaluation methods. In the last part of thesis the final review of gained knowledge and the results of the comparison are presented in summarized graphs. The thesis could be used as a unified information source for computer specialists in different job positions - IT Managers, database administrators or systems integrators - while choosing suitable Open Source relation database system for engineered or redesigned information system of a company.
