Kopolymery syntetizované v aparatuře „stopped-flow“ byly frakcionovány preparativní TREF (Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation) metodou a získané frakce byly následně analyzovány pomocí DSC, 13C-NMR a GPC/SEC. U takto připravených směsí byly vyhodnoceny mechanické vlastnosti, DTMA a reologické vlastnosti a výsledky byly srovnány s vlastmi původního komerčního ICP kopolymeru. Dále byly studovány rozdíly v morfologii a umístění EPR domén v matrici PP prostřednictvím SEM.
Gender and Law
Jará, Nikola ; Agha, Petr (advisor) ; Kosek, Jan (referee)
Gender equality, which encompasses the equal treatment of women and men, is a contemporary issue that concerns us all. Unfortunately, it does not receive adequate attention in the legal framework of the Czech Republic. The legal regulations governing equality and equal opportunities remain insufficient, and the Czech Republic lags behind other European countries in this regard. There is a notable lack of interest and concrete efforts to address gender inequality within Czech society. In theory, women, like men, are granted civil and political rights under the law, including the right to equal pay for equal work. However, in practice, significant disparities persist, especially in the labor market and decision-making processes. One way to promote equality in society is through affirmative action. This thesis delves into the theoretical concepts related to gender equality, discrimination, and affirmative action. It also conducts an analysis of existing equality legislation and the state's gender policies. Additionally, the thesis examines key areas where women face disadvantages and discrimination. It takes into account the social factors contributing to persistent inequality, the influence of gender segregation and stereotypes, and the unequal position of women in public life. The objective of this...
The limits of humanity. Robots are getting dangerously close to humans, while you tend not to consider various groups of people as (fully) human.

The limits of humanity. Robots are getting dangerously close to humans, while you tend not to consider various groups of people as (fully) human. Abstract Recent years have seen a significant shift in the legal debate on artificial intelligence. The moment the European Commission presented its proposal for an AI law, the initial issues, such as whether artificial intelligence should have legal personality, the liability of autonomous vehicles, or in which legal professions we can expect AI to replace humans, ceased to dominate. This, after years of public consultation and deliberation, is a legal framework for the comprehensive regulation of artificial intelligence. The paper moves from presenting the conceptual context of the debate on regulating artificial intelligence, through the theoretical debate on defining artificial intelligence, to the AI Act. After a brief summary of the origins, context and main features of future regulation, the paper discusses the risk classification model on which future AI regulation is to be based. The thesis describes all of the risk categories covered by the AI Act. The work proceeds from the top of the risk pyramid, which includes AI systems that pose an unacceptable risk, to the level of AI systems that pose only a minimal risk and remain unregulated from the...
Psychological Aspects affecting Judges ' Desicion making with a Focus on Civil Procedure
Olšovská, Sarah ; Kosek, Jan (advisor) ; Friedel, Tomáš (referee)
Psychological Aspects Affecting Judges' Decision Making with a Focus on Civil Procedure The diploma thesis examines the impact of cognitive biases as psychological aspects influencing judicial decision-making and their implications for justice in the legal system. The thesis delves into the intersection of psychology and law, with the central idea being the hypothesis that a judge cannot be just or impartial if his or her decision-making is contaminated by cognitive biases. The focus is on the dissection of the legal conditions that a candidate for judicial office must meet in order to be appointed to that office since the selection of a suitable judge is critical to the fulfilment of the right to a fair trial. The thesis highlights the demandingness of holding the judgeship itself. Then examines the legal and procedural principles that guide judicial decision- making, explaining and emphasizing the importance of understanding the role of the judge in the judicial process. The diploma thesis then dives into the field of cognitive psychology and presents a Kahneman- Frederick model (dual system) dividing the human mind into System 1 and System 2, through which the cognitive biases influencing judicial decision-making can be explained. They are often rooted in intuition, which leads to the...
Studium dynamiky živých lidských buněk v odezvě na běžné kontaminanty vod s cílem vývoje citlivého specifického analytického postupu
KOŠEK, Jan
The bachelor thesis is devoted to testing the toxicity of chemical substances. In the current chemical and pharmaceutical industry, thousands of new substances are produced annually, which brings about the need to ensure sufficient consumer safety and environmental protection. In vitro testing is becoming an increasingly important research tool in this issue. This work verifies the theoretical foundations and proposes an algorithm developed by Lonhus et al. from the Laboratory of experimental complex systems in Nové Hrady and its possible future applications in in vitro testing. This new approach uses the principles of microrheology and tracks Speed-Up Robust Features (SURF) in a digital image and converts them into vectors of trajectories of intracellular mass particles. Microrheology is a relatively new field of research in life sciences and deals with the study of flow and deformation of materials at the microscopic level. The algorithm separates two main components of the movements inside the cells: direct movement of organelles as larger particles and random Brownian motion. The advantage of this method is its potential of easy use and sensitivity. The method makes it possible to obtain important primary information about the effect of chemical substances on cell cultures.
(Not) equality between women and men in the legal system of the Czech Republic
Zděnek, Jiří ; Kosek, Jan (advisor) ; Chmel, Jan (referee)
v anglickém jazyce This thesis critically examines the current state of gender inequality in the Czech Republic with a focus on work, family life, and politics. The main objective is to identify the causes and consequences of these inequalities, and to evaluate whether and to what extent they are due to natural differences between men and women or to the influence of social constructs. Additionally, the role of law in relation to the redress of gender inequality is explored. The theoretical part of the thesis provides an overview of key concepts and theories related to gender equality and inequality, as well as a discussion of the development of gender equality legislation within international, European, and national law. In the empirical part of the thesis, a comprehensive analysis of various sources, including statistical data and opinion polls, is conducted to provide detailed insights into gender inequality in the Czech Republic. This analysis covers multiple areas, including income disparities, childcare responsibilities, political representation, and vertical and horizontal segregation. Furthermore, the thesis examines the social and cultural factors that significantly influence gender equality, which often fall outside the purview of legal frameworks.
Jewish Law
Půlpánová, Klára ; Kosek, Jan (advisor) ; Agha, Petr (referee)
Jewish Law Abstract The diploma thesis presents the Jewish law as a juridical system. In the first part it introduces the reader to the concept of halakhah and its content. Then it places the development of the Jewish law in historical context, introducing its evolution from a historical and critical perspective as well as from a traditional halakhic perspective. The thesis divides the Jewish law into biblical and rabbinic law and also captures and further discusses the various characteristics of the Jewish law, which are multivalence, the absence of centralization, the diversity of opinions of halakhic savants and ritual law as a ubiquitous part of legal norms. It also describes the sources of halakhah and presents a selection of the most important literary sources of the Jewish law, together with a brief account of their historical development. One chapter of the thesis is also devoted to rabbinic hermeneutics. The thesis introduces three concepts of hermeneutical rules called midot. The first one is the seven rules of Hillel, the second one are the thirteen rules of Rabbi Yishmael, and the third concept is the thirty-two rules of Rabbi Eliezer. The thesis demonstrates by examples the application of these rules in the exegesis of biblical legal norms, and thereby also illustrates the concept of the Jewish...
The Roma (Gypsi) Holocaust
Wilde, Boris ; Kosek, Jan (advisor) ; Agha, Petr (referee)
The central theme of this thesis is the Roma Holocaust. Through the historical realities the Roma Holocaust is placed in a legal but also a wider sociological context. The individual stages in the development of the legal status of the Roma minority from approximately the thirteenth century form the internal division of the first mainly historical part of the work. The aim of this part is to point out the causes that to a certain extent determined the investigated events during the Second World War, but also the post-war development and the current status quo. The second part of the work directly analyzes the Roma Holocaust, while the emphasis is on the development in Nazi Germany but also on the development in the individual successor state units of the first Czechoslovak Republic. The differences in the state policy towards the Roma minority during the Second World War, which led to various consequences, are illustrated on the mentioned state units. The third and last part of the thesis is devoted to the development after the Second World War and its purpose is to point out the process of reflecting on the Roma Holocaust and the significance of this process for post-war society, both within the united Czechoslovakia and the independent Czech Republic. Emphasis is mainly on the question of how...
